Hello there, I have been doing some online searching and found this site. After checking some of the posts, everyone seemed friendly and helpful here so I registered. I have been looking for some help identifying our newest family member. Last Christmas(2013) my wife talked me into a puppy. Technically, it was for our daughter, but I knew who really wanted it. After pointing out that we would be the ones responsible, not our daughter, I gave the okay(not that I had a choice at that point). I was raised with dogs, both hunting and companion, so I knew what it would take. Dogs are much more hands on than the cats my wife was used to. Shortly after that, we were on our way to a rescue facility to meet a possibility she had found online. According to the rescue lady, the puppy was a Yorkie/Jack Russell mix. After a year, I have my doubts. The closest thing I can guess is that 'Daisy' has at least a little Norfolk Terrier in her. All of the behavior and configuration characteristics seem to match fairly closely, so I thought I would ask some experts. One of the pictures below is of Daisy at about 10 weeks old, when we picked her up, the other is shortly after her first birthday: Any thought would be appreciated.
Hello Tony - Pereg and I have pleasure in welcoming you to Breedia! As for gorgeous little Daisy - I am afraid I have no idea what breed/breeds she might be but I do know that she is a scrumptious little girl!
Welcome to the forum. I can tell you she cute. Past that I'm a giant breed person so anything under 120lbs I'm generally zero help with.
You could be right, but as there aren't that many Norfolks around, my guess would be possibly Yorkie x Border Terrier. Whatever her breeding Daisy is a real sweetie, but if my guess is right, I bet she's full of mischief! Welcome to Breedia, from Carole, Tweed and Eddie.
I was thinking Border Terrier in there somewhere too! Agree with everyone else though - she's a cutie
Thanks for all the ideas. I looked at border terriers and can definitely see some facial similarities. They appear to have much longer legs than she does, though. Her size and buildare very close to a cairn terrier except for not having pointed ears. I doubt it matters or that we will ever know for sure, since it seems that terrier/terrier mixes can produce similar results from many different combinations. What does matter is that we wouldn't trade her for anything. I grew up with mostly hunting dogs(beagles and labs), but terriers are proving to be a lot of fun.
Welcome to Breedia and what a lovely dog. My first thought was a Cairn terrier and maybe a silky terrier as the silky looks like a yorkie but is larger.
Hello Tony welcome.. Daisy could be a number of different things, she is really cute Certainly a bit of terrier in there I would say...
