They are actually selling off old stock, one of Curry's 50inch TV's being sold for £399 is 2 years old, if you read about the TV on the web site, its says its Which lowest rated TV they have said its as poor picture quality & poor sound.

Tina, people like those shown in the newspapers and on the television do not care.

All they see a BIG television in a SALE at a REDUCED price - and they MUST have it.

Black Friday - an import from the US into the UK and publicised like mad by the stores, and thousands of people fall for it.

It is Friday, a working day - do none of these people work? Or have they pulled a sickie just so that they can buy a BIG television in a SALE at a REDUCED price, which they MUST have.

Amazon had closed down at 2am this morning because of the high demand of people on there.
Ebay had crashed & was showing notice saying due to high number of using ebay has closed down & our engineers are working as fast as they can to get the site up & running.
Bid.com crashed dead on 2 minutes passed midnight.
    Very.com had crashed at 1am
Ambrose Wilson part of JD Williams group crashed at 1:30am

It as been utterly madness, I went to Asda this morning, they had extra security guards & had put up railings & were herding the people into a line plus they were only letting in 5 bargain hunters at a time (they could only go down the one aisle to the electric department) I walked in through other door & was met by a security officer I explained I was only going in for bread tea coffee milk, 5 minutes later my shopping was waiting at the self service tills, I was escorted over to tills I paid for my shopping & was escorted back to the door I entered in by.

Amazon is not down now, but it goes down if you try to buy something. I just clicked onto something, clicked to go to basket, mainly to check the delivery charge, and it went down.

It was not even something in the sale!

I did not want to buy the item from Amazon, I was doing a comparison to find out their delivery charge on it as it was something they actually to supply to Israel, and the only way to do it was to put it in the basket.

There was an article in one of the English language online Israeli newspapers today about online purchasing, and apparently a study by PayPal places Israelis among the biggest international internet buyers in the world. According to the study, over 2.5 million Israelis bought something online over the past 12 months – 82% of them from an international site, usually in the US or China.

Guilty as charged M'Lord - but the things I buy from the US are mostly from iHerb and are vitamins and supplements for Pereg and for myself. However, I do buy things from Amazon UK and also from China [everything from China is postage free] both for my self and also to earn a wee bit of pin money by selling things - say I pay $2 for something and sell it for $5 - something like that.

Oy that I just came home from Black Friday...as an employee. For the most part it was civil, just so very many people. But towards the end of my night, bombed this morning then it slowed down around 5pm...a woman asking about two trees and what comes in multi-color. Okay I guess for her this was a mega important issue. But I have just had a zillion customers all day, c'mon have some pity on "the help".

I did find a department head who verified both trees only come in the colors they are. And Mami has to be all rude and say "Oh I wanted to find you and double check because I think you were trying to lose me". Lady you walked to another aisle and I didn't see you jeez...find you a personal shopper next time and leave me alone.

Please folks, remember your salespeople have probably had A LONG DAY TOO and offer them the same courtesy you expect as a customer...rude ****, I disappeared off the floor for the last half hour.

Amazon UK is still not working properly - you can find things although the site is treacling like mad, but when you hit "add to basket" the site goes down.

The latest media news just gets worse and worse.

    Greed. Just sickening greed.

After deliberating what to get Georgina and Gwylim for Christmas I finally decided to buy them some intelligence games. I spent most of the afternoon looking for games suitable for both dogs, especially for Georgie with her chubby chops and eventually found what I was looking for at Zooplus UK .... but they don't deliver to Hungary! Then discovered I could order them online from Zooplus Hungary which is what I did but had to pay by PayPal which I've done before with numerous other purchases from various websites. I'm not sure whether it's PayPal or my Debit Card issuer because try as I will PayPal keep telling me my card issuer won't approve the sale!

I'm so fed up I'm going to leave it until tomorrow afternoon before I try again.

It is almost like the world has gone crazy because of this "Black Friday" balagan.

I can access iHerb in the US, order and pay, as usual, with my Visa card. I can access AliExpress [mainly China], order and pay, as usual, with my Visa card [payment is made through AliExpress and they then pay the suppliers, so it is perfectly safe and secure for me].

But I cannot even put anything in my "basket" on Amazon before the site crashes, and as I said, I only want to find out the delivery charge. PayPal is down which means DX [Deal Express, although still open, is nbg as payments are made for purchases through PayPal.

Nothing is a problem for me really, but what on earth are all these people doing? Do they never stop and think that the are only saving a small amount on a new television that they probably do not need?

    What about food?

Or do they think that a new big television will feed their stomachs and the stomachs of their children, if they have any, while filling their brains with whatever they see on their new televisions?

And when you consider what is on the television this time of year. Charities begging for donations mixed with screaming commercials for blow out sales. That says something.
