    A Bit of Good News

Today I received an posting from Humane Society International, which says that from Nov. 13th. 2014, India is to ban the importation of cosmetic products and ingredients which have been tested on animals.:D This makes India the first south Asian country to enact such a ban, and follows on from legislation earlier this year, which banned cosmetic testing in its own labs. As this means no sales in India for the multinational companies that do test on animals, this could well create ripples elsewhere - we can only hope the the message is acted upon.
Just one step on the ladder - but so welcome. Well done India!:038:

    Well done indeed! :041:

I do not use cosmetics [as in make-up] but I do use facial cleansers, lotions, toners, creams, body lotions etc [at my age and with my wrinkles and dry skin they are a necessity], which is why I buy them from iHerb in California, because they state and guarantee that nothing has been tested on animals. They also state parabens-free, but I had to look that up to find what they were talking about!

Come to think of it, even the hair products also guarantee the same thing, yet surprisingly enough their prices are far lower than anything I could purchase here.

I agree 100% with the position taken by India. Let's hope other countries follow their lead.

Brilliant responses. If we all look for the 'Leaping Bunny' symbol on our toiletries, maybe things could start to change.
There is also a site, www.go/cruelty-free.org/shopper.
