What I can't understand though, it why do some first time owners take on rescue dogs with 'problems,' and why do some rescues let difficult dogs go to first time owners? Most of the new owners have the best intentions, but not the know-how to help a dog over it's hang-ups, so they get thrown in at the deep end and take on dogs that sometimes get either passed on again or returned to rescue, and so the cycle goes on.
I would imagine that the percentage of owners with problem dogs who can afford to employ a behaviourist is to help them is very small.

I agree with other posters, that the idiots in the documentary deliberately training their dogs to fight need locking up and a life ban from keeping any animals at all.

I use to take my very first staffie out carried her in my arms wrapped in my coat, she loved it sniffing the air and meeting people this does any pup the power of good.
