We are thinking of moving into an bungalow, so 2 weeks ago I popped into an estate agents, this is what I told them : Must be detach 3/4 bedrooms all must have ensuite shower rooms. Family bathroom with bath Separate dinning room Separate family room Reasonable size kitchen Office or room for a office 2 acres of land Garage or room for a garage Maximum of £550 thousand not penny more. Then I told them what I don't want which went like this : I don't want open plan I don't want house I don't want barn conversion I don't want thatch roof I don't want semi detach I don't want to be on main road. The person that I was speaking to wrote everything down, but I think they got the wants & don't list mixed up as they sent me 3 property details today they are as folowed: Property number 1 is a 3 storey town house with no garage ir land. Property number 2 was an barn conversion over £750 thousand Property number 3 was semi detach open plan house on main road. I am not asking for much, but it seems the estate agents can't or won't send me details of what I am asking for
Yes been looking on line nothing suitable yet. Looking in & around Derbyshire area. Owning my own rescue home now that's a good idea, but nope looking into having pigs, goats chickens & ducks.
What you stated sounds about right for most estate agents I gave up and found my own, despite me saying I wanted large garden, house not that important priority being garden and lack of neighbours, they all sent me terraced houses or semis surrounded by neighbours with small gardens or yards
I'd recommend www.rightmove.co.uk as well. Or... why not come to Wales, you can get some stunning houses here for that kind of budget
I love Wales Azz I do love Lydstep, Tenby, Saundersfoot Amroth, areas the best, so if I did move to Wales it will have to be somewhere in them areas.

6JRT's .... Derbyshire is my favourite county and if I had the money the county I'd choose to live in! I was born and brought up on the Notts/Derby border. My mother's family all lived near Ilkeston or Claycross Derbys and my father's family in either Awsworth or Eastwood Notts. I have many happy memories of days spent exploring the Peak District with my Lab in tow!. All the best in your search!
Have details of bungalow in Hartington in Derbyshire, seems ok on paper but does say needs rewiring & decorating throughout hence guide price of £200 thousands got viewing next week, then will have to wait until auction to see whether I buy it or not.
Hope the bungalow in Hartington is suitable. Might be tricky finding somewhere with three ensuites plus bathroom. Though if you get one big enough and cheap enough you might be able to install your own. Something which has been used as a Guest House might have lots of ensuites - though again, if you want a bungalow that might be difficult. But, somewhere out there is the ideal place for you - all you have to do is find it!
ive just had the same with wanting to move to a bigger rented house. My list was - Min two bedrooms hopefully 3 large living space dont mind open plan downstairs. enclosed garden/yard (just enough to let phoebe have a morning wee) Must have a bath not just a shower Parking for at least one car Cannot have a bin run/right of way through garden (you will be surprised how many of the houses around here have them) Bathroom must be upstairs (hate the bathroom attached to kitchen thing) they said i was being to fussy, i dont understand how as i literally described a normal house. may i ask why you need so many bathrooms tina? its always fascinated me this more bathrooms than bedrooms thing as i dont know a single person with more than a bathroom and en-suit on master bedroom, i thought i was glam when my last house had a second toilet.
Can't understand why they think you're being too fussy - sounds perfectly normal requirements to me. How do you find renting a property with a dog? I see lots of properties round here being advertised as 'No Pets'.
There's me & hubby in one bedroom, my Ex in another & my brother in the 3rd bedroom, so with 4 adults we are looking at having ensuite shower room in each bedroom, plus a family bathroom that way I get me own toilet so does all me men they can have their own toilet too.
Oh tina that makes a bit more sence. Not sure i could live with my ex but what ever. Janet this landlord was ok but it was hard finding one. I find the letting agents are horrid and dont actually want to find you somewhere to live but cant seem to find many private landlords that dont use an agent. So my only option is not telling them about phoebe this time round.
Went had look round bungalow in Hartington it really wants knocking down & building a new bungalow in its place. So we have decided to stay put & turn the dinning room into a bedroom for me, put door in the wall between dinning room & utility room, then turn utility room into a wet room, then extend the kitchen by building outwards - think you are allowed 3 meters without planning permission & make a dinning kitchen & utility room. Have had several quotes all roughly the same around £2,0 thousands to do wet room & extension, some of the builders refuse to leave quotes when we said they only get paid when finished all the work.
You did the right thing Tina..only show cash once works done. there's so many cowboys about. Itll come good in the end.bloody landlords or whoever can't expect everyone to be 2.2
What a disappointment about the bungalow. You just never can tell until you see a place - Estate Agents are very talented at taking photographs which make a dump look like a palace! There are certainly advantages to staying put and altering things to suit you. Hope it turns out just as you want it. And won't the dogs have fun with all those builders to bark at!
