I’ve had loads over the years ,been Knocked flying several times by having my legs run into, usually when its raining and muddy, heres me lying in mud in agony and they think it’s a new game ! hit in the shin by logs which results in huge bruises ,head butted in the nose that make my eyes water ,cracked my head tripping over them (they will lie in the most awkward places ,running up the stairs crossed in front of me, down I went . Think the worst was when walking past parked car (unbeknown to me there was a ‘cat’ under it ) it shot out and one of them took off , caught me out unexpectedly luckily I missed the car but felt like my arm had left the socket . Oh the pleasures of having dogs !!
Where do I start Have been sent flying after having the back of my legs rammed by my beautiful fur babies, Fallen downstairs/upstairs when over stepping sleeping dog who decided to stand just as I have one foot in air, Head butted numbered of times Broken fingers from leads (hard lesson to learn not to hold lead same as horse reins) Broken ankle Several bites when breaking up fights from my previous dogs.
Lol I've had a few, I was lying on the sofa feeling ill and my Boxer came running in from the back garden at full pelt. I stuck my head around the end of the sofa to see what the ruckus was about and got a Boxers hefty paw straight in the face, I had no feeling in my nose for days afterwards. Another time I had him on a harness and flexi lead and my small son on his bike with stabilisers, I was bending over the bike adjusting something as the Boxer took off after something and I flew through the air like something out of a cartoon landed with an almighty crash on the tarmac path . Sydney my Dobermann had a habit when young of running straight at you and swerving at the very last moment, he did it one day and my mind was elsewhere, I stepped aside and he crashed straight into me launching me into orbit. He caught me on the side of the knee at speed, I flew up into the air but it was the whack that did the damage not the landing. I had extensive ligament damage and hobbled for a year after that one. Diesel my staffie is something of lump, if he shakes his head and catches you by accident the bruises are usually technicolour. The Pugs are a trip hazard as they run between your feet when you're walking but so far I've managed to avoid serious injury with them, although I've come close to head butting the downstairs loo a few times Why do we do it?
Strangely enough in all the years .... decades .... I had dogs, apart from a few sratches from sharp claws or puupy teeth the only notable injury I've had was one day when it started to rain and I ran out to get the washing in. My parents Lab Sarah ran out after me. I stopped .. she didn't ..... she knocked my feet from straight under me and I landed slap on my bottom and broke my coccyx! For the next three months I was in ABSOLUTE AGONY! I couldn't sit, I couldn't stand .... I had to sleep lying on my tummy, and go up and down the stairs on my hands and knees!
Fractured eye socket, cheekbone and minor skull fracture in one incident and a glorious black eye... countless rope burns round my ankles resulting in torn skin when De Dawg has rushed past me... crutches and De Dawg are not exactly a match made in heaven, but my only consolation is that I am rarely on my crutches and she cannot do any damage when I am in my chair! Not forgetting the black eyes from being poked by a front paw when in bed, to show how much she loves me - well, it is her way of showing endearment! I would not be without her though, Dangerous Dawg that she is!
This thread is making me Rocky's headbutts hurt! Especially in the private parts Tail whips - ouch! But the funniest has to be when he was playing with his best friend (Beagle) and darted right into me from behind - I went flying in the air and landed on my back. OUCH!!!! It hurt for days
wow i could take a page or two up here. minor stuff is tail whips and ear slaps when im trying to do ear drops and she shakes her head (they really hurt especially when round your face) scratches when she trys to say thanks for something im eating and not giving her and she really wants. Ive also been knocked over more times than i can count. now slightly more serious - first time she had ear drops i tried to do them and she full on head butted me in the face i had a bust lip and nose and a cracker of a black eye. thankfully after 6 years shes learnt to just let me do it. When walking her when she was a devil teen she pulled me so sudden and so hard that she dislocated my shoulder and wrist. I had to tie her to the bus stop and phone my best friend to come and get her. When she was a devil teen she shot out the door past me and i went head first in to my car and then ended up in a&e. this was the end of day time walks for phoebe for a very long time. Worst - About 3 years a go i was bringing her out for a wee in the carpark and was half in half out the door only holding on to lead with one hand when she spotted a cat and darted pulled me out of door and flew me in to the side of my car i then fell and she dragged me on my back half way across the carpark. I had a body size dent in the side of my mini that cost about £800 to fix, a wacking great bruise running the length of my body down the side, a black eye and all the skin was removed from my arm and lower back and very top of my back and shoulders. Went to a&e and they thought i had been hit by car, i laughed and said i kinda had. Was ill for a while even had blood in my wee wee. Hubby said she had to go at this point but ild of seen him go before phoebe so i hired the trainer that helps out at our local rspca and as much as her methods dont match what is deemed the best with all the treats ect but none of that had worked so a few weeks of hard work and feeling like a meanie had me a new dog and a whole new life
I forgot the bruised shins from De Dawg's tail, which is thick and hard and dunnarf give a wallop. And does not care even when I am supposedly safely sitting!
Zack biggest problem is his big feet, you know when he stands on them. OUCH. Well he does weigh in at 12 stone.
12 stone ????? No wonder you call him "MY BIG BEAR"! Zak weighs 2 stone more than me and Georgina put together!
