Do as I say , not as I do! don't think its a famous saying, but one used a lot in my home to my children....

Maybe not famous but I think most children have heard - and most parents have said some or all of the following - probably others as well!

I am the same as you in that respect Meg. Here is a similar one from former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams:

When a lady told me about an 8 month old German Shepherd Dog, in Wales, who needed a good home and somebody to love him!........His name was Rhodi!!! That was just TOO good to be true, but it happened. I will be so grateful for the rest of my life.
