I saw the cutest little Miniature Schnauzer earlier today - only 12 months old and already mastered a good few commands. His owner was so proud of him and only too happy to show him off. His coat looked so smooth and soft too. These puppies will be my downfall for sure! I soooo want one! Which breeds have you seen recently?
On today's walk the only purebreeds we met were a chocolate lab, a shih tzu and a whippet. Also met a labradoodle and an Akita cross. I can't wait to see the whippet's owners again in the hope that they will have their new arrival with them - a 15 week old chocolate chihuahua. I am green with envy.
I seem to have met a lot of Chocolate Labs today on my walk all giddy youngster from 6months to about 2 yr old and all wanting to play
None over the weekend as we walked in our quiet spots, but last week we saw a French Bulldog, Lab, Cairn, JRT. All owned by neighbours.
Everyday in my sensible dog walking club, there is Rottweiler, GSD, Cocker Spaniel, American Bulldog, English Bullmastiff, Neapolitan Mastiff, Great Dane - who is terrified of my Dottie, dachshund, Poodle, Pugsx4, Welsh Terrier, 3xmix breeds, Chihuahua, 2 lovely true Staffies (KC spec staffies) & of course my 6 JRT's. When I go to Carsington Water we always met a family who as a Manchester Terrier & Miniature Pinscher. Tissington Trail we see family of 10 Chinese crested dogs both Powderpuff and the Hairless ones Black Rock we see Siberian Huskies Elvaston Castle, we see all types of dogs but my favourite ones as to be the 16 week old Bedlington Terrier puppy & the 20 week old Griffon Bruxellois puppy (who I thought was an Border Terrier)
We met a Belgian Malinois a week or two back. I thought it was just a skinny GSD at first.. but then a closer look I got it right. Female dog, owner said 10 months. Not friendly, barking and growling at Nigredo and I... but beautiful, so, so beautiful. We also met a Standard Poodle at the senior home. The dog belonged to a resident there. Black, classic poodle haircut. Disinterested in my big puppy and was no fun at all... but again, very beautiful dog. Name was Claire, also female. Of course we see random mutts and whatnot all the time
My next door neighbour has just got a Great Dane puppy and he's huge and very playful. He's fawn with a black mask and blimmin gorgeous.
We've just arrived back home from the vets where Georgina met a Pitbull and a Labrador puppyy. On our last visit three weeks ago she met a Beagle, two Golden Retrievers, a Viszzla and an elderly Yorkie. In our village we regularly see two GSD's a Puli, a Pumi and a Kuvasz although I expect for the next month we'll be seeing more of them once the words got round that Georgie has come into season! And completely forgot that on Saturday at training met a Standard Schnauzer called Roxy and her "baby" sister a Minature Schnauzer called Miki. Her owner (who's the father of the trainer) breeds both sizes and has ten of them!
I have seen a woman walking a beautiful hound, I am not sure what it is though, it is taller than a Fox Hound . I guess it must just be a big Fox Hound but you don't often see them as pets.
No idea what breed it was as it was the first time I had seen it, but it was a smallish blonde version of this.
l don't meet them everyday but regulars are Border Terrier, Westie, working Collie, Ridgeback and Lab.
The only one I see regularly is a rather overweight, rather elderly, rather pale blonde retriever, who from the way s/he walks is probably rather arthritic as well. It plods slowly [unleashed] behind its owner and a group of other men on their way to Synagogue every Sabbath morning, apparently flonks down outside during the service, then plods slowly behind them on his way back. Same thing on Sabbath afternoons and on Holy Days. Those are the only times I see it, but it is week after week and has been for as long as I can remember. Its tail is always wagging - slowly but wagging all the same - takes no notice of Pereg [who is norty and barks at her but it is a "hello" bark not a "go away one" ] - just plods along and always looks happy.
We live opposite a dog friendly park, so far today we've seen 2 Jack Russell's, 3 German Shepherds, 1 Matese/Shih Tzu, 2 Border Collies, 1 Black Labrador and 1 Gold, 1 Collie, 3 Golden Retriever's and 2 MP's - it can get quite vocal here at times, when everyone wants to say hello
Pam. I have yet to meet a chocolate Lab that isn't Fat, Mad, untrained or downright rude! I do not mean to offend anybody, but what sort of Dog did these owners want? Ps; A lot of these traits are now coming out in the ever, more popular, Doodles'
I see a lot of Lurchers and Terriers here but we did see a Shar Pei a few days ago Do you have a spare bed for me? Sounds bliss
today we saw 2 spaniels (springer and cocker), a lab and a mixed breed. A norwegian elkhound moved here a few weeks ago and he's gorgeous There's a large munsterlander, and a few bernese mountains dogs round here as well as the labs/spaniels/terriers etc
