Well it's certainly been a while since i last put pics up, both my dogs are doing well, Tummel is 4 this year and Dan is 2 on the 20th of March!!! So close and yet i can't believe it!!! Here's the most recent pics of my pair
and for more "awww facter" and a size comparison, here's Dan at 11 weeks in the same location as the first set of pics and just because it's super cute, 10 week old Dan too
Tummel and Dan are both stunning Alyson, but Dan is just gorgeous and that last photo awwwwwww What has he been like? How would you describe him/the breed? I'm eager to learn more! Btw, could you give me a sentence or two about him so we can feature him on the profile please?
Dan doesn't really fit the typical spinone description, he's not lazy (at all), he's not placid and laid back, or smart but he is very friendly, and a fantastic gundog with no real training. I definately think spinones should be better known, they are eager to please, generally good house dogs, and i've yet to meet an aggressive spinone, or even hear about one and i speak to people all over the world who have them a couple? Ok then Italian spinones are one of the oldest gundog breeds on the earth, they are extremely efficent hunters and can run all day. They are ideal for an active family home. Spinones love walking and swimming. They can be stubborn and the beard/ears can require some maintenance but overall they are a healthy breed, with an average lifespan of 13+ years. Be warned, spinones are huge drinkers, sometimes i feel they could put a camel to shame!!!
What about trimming his moustache? Would that lesson the wet, crispiness? I used to run a mile when Rocky had slobbery chops after eating food so not sure how I would react to wet chops from a dog with a tache He's still a stunner tho
If I'm honest I just don't do much beard maintenance, if you dry it after every meal/drink/walk and give it a brush daily and wash weekly it should stay decent, Dans just doesn't bother me much
Dan says thanks guys not all spinones are nervous, it's just something to watch for. Dans been very well socialised but he just takes dislikes to things, he doesn't like bikes at all, never has. I think when it's people it's because they tend to crowd him. Going to start showing him this year though so trying to socialise as much as possible before June (his first show)
Good luck! I reckon he will do well in the show ring - he's a looker! I hope you will keep us posted... I look forward to reading about his adventures Have you YouTubed him btw? Would be cool to see some videos of him
His pedigree has 11 champions in it (working and show) so he's got to be good for something he's an amazing gundog!!! I will definitely keep you all updated on how he's doing I have never put videos on YouTube but I will make one for you tomorrow
Awesome - look forward to seeing it I am sure he will do very well, he's a stunner. What lines is he? I might have to look up the breeder
His mum was (sadly she passed away last year) corrielochan aurora, dad is adone del feriiia who is now retired. His breeders have always placed when they've been at shows so there's a good chance he'll do well
Dan is absolutely stunning [both dogs are] and they are wonderful photos. Remember the saying? Kissing a man Without a beard Is like eating An egg Without any Salt
....true Malka Unfortunatly human beards are usual harsh and spiky, dogs beards are much softer but for looking at only, you wouldn't want to kiss one because they usually been somewhere unspeakable
