    Blue Cross Education Dog Flora Akita

    Please meet Flora (Melodor We Are The Borg ShCM). She is a fantastic Breed Ambassador and is currently the only Akita in the UK to be working as a Blue Cross Education Dog. She truly loves her charity work and regularly goes into schools, youth groups, Cub, Beaver and Brownie packs, Pupil Referral Units (for children who have already been excluded from mainstream education) as well as Police Cadet groups to teach young people how to act responsibly towards and safely around dogs.
    Due to links with the Variety Club of Great Britain Flora also assists at schools for pupils with quite marked learning deficits.
    Flora has been honoured with the following accolades due to her charity work and has been made a member of:
    • the 3rd Holborn Brownies
    • the 23rd Bethnal Green Brownies
    • the Metropolitan Police (complete with her very own badge)
    She has also been awarded :
    • her very own Blue Peter badge
    Flora is:
    • Britain's Next Dog Model 2013
    • Canine World Dog of the Year 2014
    She represents the breed for both:
    • The Blue Cross
    • The Akita Association
    at
    • Crufts
    • The London Pet Show
    • Discover Dogs (London)
    • The Animal in War Remembrance Gathering (London)
    • Anti BSL Peaceful Rallies (London)
    She studies hard and has attained:
    • The Kennel Club Puppy Foundation Test
    • The Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze Test
    • The Kennel Club Good Citizen Silver Test
    • The Kennel Club Good Citizen Gold Test
    As a fabulous show dog she has also attained her:
    • Show Certificate of Merit (ShCM)
    • Stud Book Number
    She has featured on several television programmes including:
    • The One Show (BBC)
    • Top Dog Model (ITV)
    • SuperScrimpers (Channel 4)

    Now she's got her own thread, I look forward to seeing many more photos of her :D

    I love the idea of being able to link to the photo threads from featured photos - one of my better ideas I think :lol:

    Ok... I've added the facility to include a thread with featured photos - and now Flora's photo has a link to her thread :D

    I think It's a great way for anyone wanting more info about a featured dog, and a good means for people to contact/get more info from the owners directly on the forums themselves :)
