    Help guess Shadow's breed?

Good day all! Below are some photos of our 3.5 month old puppy Shadow. She's big enough now that maybe we can get some insight on what breed she's mixed with! We found her on the side of the road when she was about six weeks old.

Shadow is ALL black. She has no white on her coat anywhere, her belly skin is grayish and not at all pink. She has black paws, nose, and gums. The back half of her tongue is black/blue and her gums are all black/blue with no spotting. She is short-haired with a weird wavy patch of fur down her back that developed over the last two weeks. Her tail also curls over her back and has since she was little.

This is a real difficult, mostly because I'm not very good with identifying breeds, anyway all I can detect is Princess maybe crossed with a little sweetheart, sprinkled with some absolutely gorgeous!

I see something different from each angle in those pictures- maybe a little jack russell, a tiny bit of german shepherd maybe? The all black I think might be significant but I'm really not sure.

I do know she was very lucky you came along and found her.

Beautiful! Who knows what is in her as I also see something different in each picture. In the first I saw German Shepherd....then Akita...then maybe some Bull Terrier! Labs tend to have a bit of a ridge on hair down their backs and hers might be waiver as a sign that she's going to have longer hair.

Akita's have have curly tails, straight upright ears, and can have black spots on their tongue.

She is gorgeous. I wonder if she has some Chow in her with the tongue having quite a lot of blue and maybe some Ridgeback. Could be a lot of combinations in there.

What a lucky girl she was you came along and found her.

Well I never! I've never seen a dog with black patches on its tongue!

I do however know the breed - it is a lovely little black dog!

Thanks for all of the welcomes!

We were thinking german shepard... but the black tongue and curly tail puzzle us. Akitas and chows both have those traits, but also long hair, and Shadow's is very short!

I am no expert, But.... having had a husky pup I would say there are familiarities, the ears are upright, and does s he have a longer ruff of hair on the back, the hair along the spine is it courser than the rest of her fur? does she have rear dew claws? the tail would be synonymous with a husky , check for any change in colour on the nose some huskys noses go pink as they get older, mine doesn't have black on the tongue but he does under the tongue, either way what a beautifull dog, and lucky you!!!!

she reminds me of a short haired black shepherd dog

is she still a puppy? looks like at the first pic at all, but has not big paws?
how big will she get, or is she?

but I've also no clue :102:

Looks like GSD mixed with Akita or something. Akita dogs can come in black, so I'm really thinking Akita is there. The tail is a little curled (not a lot) and is held gaily.

I'd not think much Lab was in there because she's very young and her ears are already totally pricked. If she had any significant Lab, her ears wouldn't be pricked like that already (if they ever became full pricks). Floppy ear is STRONG in Labs.

Though her face shows STRONG GSD characteristics, I'd not think she was mainly GSD. My best guess would be Akita crossed with some short coated breed with pricked or semi pricked ears for the most part.

Also, her hair doesn't look particularly short... but it is shorter than I'd expect for a GSD/Akita puppy. Something like Akita/pit bull or Akita/Kelpie is my best guess. Probably lots of breeds mixed in there though. Cute pup!!

Looks like Belgian Shepherd X to me. They commonly have pure black coats and have similar facial features of a GSD.

I'm guessing lab, akita, and either german shepherd or pharaoh hound. Either way, beautiful!
