He's ten months old We bought him thinking he was a full long haired chihuahua although he doesn't have pedigree papers. However there has been some debate over this amongst fellow dog walkers. So we thought he could possibly be 3/4 Long haired Chi and 1/4 Papillon as he has soft fur and not the course fur of a Jack russell. Heres a link of him: Thank you x
Hello and welcome He is lovely - definitely chihuahua in there lol; did you see mum and dad at all? I may be wrong, but i would have thought a chi/papillon mix would have had bigger ears Regardless, he is too handsome for it to matter much
Looks full on Chi to me too. My Pippa is only 3/4 chi and you can definitely tell she's not a full Chi!
Hiya, Thank you for the replies! I thought myself that he looked like a full Chi but he does have large paws and he is very tall. He's about the height of a jack russell and weighs about 7 pounds. He is also very bold and playful with other dogs which isnt like the average Chi and plays fetch . I bought him from a lady who had bought him as a companion for her female Chi but they didnt get along and so gave him up. She said that she'd got him from a breeder and had seen his parents who appeared to be Chi's however the mum was white and his dad was cream and so given his colouring it does sound a little suspicious. He was a lot smaller when i got him and when within 3 months he'd grown so much that we started to wonder about his breed. I absolutely love him though It would just be nice to answer people with at least a guess when they ask his breed lol. xx
Looks like full bred to me too and we used to have Chihuahuas. You can get larger Chis and perhaps this boy you have is one. He is within the weight range. Great he has such a good temperament. Well adjusted wee chap x
