I have a 4month old puppy and ive been wondering what breed she is. Ive adopted her from the spca and they say the dad is a pitbull mix. Her ears use to hang but are starting to stand up now. She has huge feet and thick legs like a corgi but her legs arnt that short. So im thinking she might also have corgi. Here she is at 2months old Here she is at 3months old today at 4months old Also today Today side of her face Also today
Only the second pic made me think of a bit of bull terrier type. JRT yes. Lovely dog anyway whatever her parentage.
Argh so cute! Could be corgi, but dwarfism actually pops up in lots of different breeds more commonly that you realise! Colouring could be collie cross? Deffo does have a bit of a corgi look. I'd be wondering how common they are round where she was picked up, if they're rare, it's unlikely she'd be that cross
Thanks for all the help guys. She was picked up in a poor area here and there are alot of pitbulls, and terriers in the area. im also not sure how big she will get will have to wait and see. She is now 4months so im sure she will still get a bit bigger. I will post photos of her as she grows maybe she still changes a bit more. She is sooo sweet.
I was trying to think what breed this girl could be and got captivated - decided to go to a thesaurus and found pulchritudinous crossed with bewitching which I think describes pretty well Can I just add - and I might be wrong, but it sounded like good advice when I heard it, that it's a good idea to socialise your pup by allowing it to meet up to 300 different dogs by the time it's 6 months old, that does sound a lot but it's worth getting her to meet a rich variety of dogs - big and small, scary and friendly so that she's well and truly socialised by the time she becomes adult. My dog is reactive and I'm sure it is because he wasn't socialised as a pup (he's a rescue dog came to me at 18 months). Good luck with Zara.
Thanks for the advice. I live with my parents and they have 3 dogs. A jack russel, a standard poodle and a lab bullmastiff mix so she loves socialising with them. I also take her out to friends to socialise with their dogs and she is extremely friendly. I just weighed her she weighs 7kg.
Oh excellent way to get her used to dogs, I can't imagine you'll have any problems at all with her growing and socialised and hopefully civilised. What a lovely combination of dogs btw
Thanks. Yes she is very sweet and civilised. I teach her manners but she is still young and also learns from my moms dogs how a pack works. She learns very fast. The standard poodle was rescued as a puppy from a abusive home he still has some issues but is much better. Zara loves playing with him as he is still only a year old.
