What breed(S) could my dog be?

    Hi everyone,

I've recently rescued a puppy, we believe he's about 5/6 months old. He has he has double dewclaws on both back paws..
I was just wondering if anyone could help me identify what breeds he is. I have a few ideas as to what I think.

i cant see the pics but apparently they are common to mountian breeds and Beaucerons and Briards but can crop up pretty much anywhere!

He just looks like a large crossbreed. Handsome one too!

Double dew claws are not breed specific, my Jack Russell had them.

Norwegian Lundehund has 6 toes. But I don't think your dog looks much like that breed :)

Aw yeah I've done alot of googling, and double dew claws arn't breed specific but some dogs, for example; great danes are apparently more likely to have them.
I see ridgeback in him by his body shape and his face is just very mixed - mastiff, staffy, lab. And I see great dane because of his goofy-ness.....so basicallly I have no idea.
And thank you guys, he is beautiful isn't he. :') <3

Definitely see some bully in him, so well could be a mastiff cross :)

Will be interesting to see how he turns out - please keep us posted :023:

Whatever he is - he is a stunner :007:

Gorgeous dog! I definitely see Ridgeback but as for what else, it could be anything really. Maybe Staffie, Rottie, Lab......hard to say!

Unfortunately that doesn't help you much with the breed thing; Louie was also a rescue, but in case case his pregnant mother was rescued (she was a street dog in Brazil!) and he was one of the pups.

    Thank you for your replies!

Ahh that's really cool!! They have the same outward turning back paws, long legs, body shape, and the same floppy ears... Thanks for posting them! :D

Those jowls indeed, you wouldn't believe how much Scooby (that's his name) drools!

Hi Gemma. I definitely see some Ridgeback in there, but like others I also could imagine some Great Dane and Mastiff too, particularly as he looks quite large and leggy at a relatively young age. His sitting position in the first photo is sooooo much like how my 6 month Ridgeback slouches!

Do you know what height/weight he is at present? That could give an indication of how large he may likely grow, if your assumption of his 5 or 6 months of age is correct.

Hi Gemma :) your boy could be a cross breed or a mixed breed , I don't think anyone could know for sure except those who have the dam and sire.

I wouldn't give it too much though but instead would enjoy him for the beautiful puppy that he is :)

His colouring in the first pic looks very much like a Boxer! I'd hazard a guess as Boxer x GSD! How big is he?
