Jacey is nearly 2 years old and has maxed his weight at 47-49 # Since the age of 7 months old. He is very obsessive with the game fetch and loves to swim. Very intelligent aswell. Master some tricks in a matter of a day and others, well he has a bit of a stubborn strike in him. Anyways, just looking for some input on what his possible mixes are. What is everyone's reasons for choosing rottie? Basing it off the color i would agree but what about Gordon Setter? Can't count the amount of times i've been asked if he's part gordon.
Gordon cross was my first thought but I doubt that. They are not a common breed over here so I would imagine they are even less common in Newfoundland. Breeds that are quite few in numbers don't tend to get cross bred often as breeders are usually choosy about where their pups go. Not saying it is impossible but unlikely. He looks more like a mix of three or more breeds than a direct cross between two breeds. A bit of Collie, Rottie, Lab, etc. are all good guesses.
This seems like a pretty rare and treasured breed. Not to sure there would be many in this neck of the woods I was told GDS/Lab when i got him. I totally went the wrong way about getting a pup and when i tried to get in contact with the seller again, to question this, The # was inactive. But he could have more then 2 mixes for sure.
I thought Hovie cross but I wouldn't think they are common then I remembered seeing a picture of an English Shepherd which looks a bit like a Hovie http://www.englishshepherd.org/breed-info.html
He looks a bit like my collie x spaniel but different colourings but same coat and similar to my collie spaniel pup
I agree Rottie x I thing, a friend suggested a Hovawart. but nop it is not (I breed those). Beautiful dog though.
