I would look on some forums which specialise in working dogs/schutzhund/mondio/knpv etc There are not very many people who breed Hollandse Herders in the UK and even fewer who really know anything about lines etc.
Cheers guys, yeah I get the same, I'm currently emailing a couple of knpv kennels In holland. Not ideal but might be my only option.
Absolutely nick! I Saw your tag line on another forum from 2009, asking where you could source a dutchy, did you get anywhere in the end?
No, not really, it looked like an import if I was going to get one at all. But I decided not to at the time anyway (think I was having a flight of fancy!....I think I'm more suited to other breeds anyway and I always get rescues) I would go with SB's advice as I would guess the Dutch's in the UK are in those sort of homes. Are you going to do dog sports if you get a dutch?
You may be better asking on the Protection K9 UK forum. If you google you should find it, as I am not allowed to post links here.
Cheers guys, Yes I'm looking at bringing on a bitch and doing trials, I know the breed pretty well and I don't think anything comes close, especially with such high drive in work but so chilled when back at home In my opinion of course!
Have you had a Dutch before? Would love to see photos They are a breed I admire, but have only ever met one in the flesh.
I know of a couple of UK breeders but don't know enough about them or the breed to be able to recommend really. I would definitely ask on the Protection K9 forum as one of the breeders is on there so should be able to help you.
