What Breed Is My Dog? some sort of Gundog cross (pics) ID this breed/mix

    What Breed Is My Dog? some sort of Gundog cross (pics)

    The chocolate colored one on the left. We got him from the RSCPA who got him from the pound, so not much history. As you can see he has a small white flash on his chest. His fur doesn't feel as soft as a weim but not as harsh as a lab. Any suggestions?

    Hi, you need to host the picture online if you haven't already. I use www.photobucket.com. Create an account, upload your pictures onto your albums and then you should be provided with a link you can post on forums etc so that others can view your pictures.

    Ok seen the pics now.

    Lab x Weim like you say is a possibility.

    Weim x GSP is another.

    Or even Weim x Vizsla, Vizsla x Lab, Vizsla x GSP.

    His ears are smaller than the weim and more triangle shaped, does that mean anything?

    I'd say Lab x possibly with a HPR type (GSP, Vizsla or similar)

    I'd say lab vizla as well. Depends how he behaves as well.

    Not really. A crossbreed can take traits from either parent.

    Yeah but I dont think his ears are like visla, GSP or weim, i guess they could be a bit lab.

    And as for how he behaves... he hardly uses his nose compared to the weim, hes very movement orientated a bit more like a sight hound.:?

    I once met someone in the park who was crossing Weims with Vizslak to create a new designer breed of chocolate pointers so it is a possibility, but something's telling me there's Lab in there somewhere!

    Looking at you flickr photos he looks much like a lab x vizsla to me as well and they are being bred by some people.

    Impossible to be sure but I'd go along with the breeds already mentioned.

    Either way - you've got ideal dogs for your sofa LOL
