    Sorry no pics :(

    Dogue de Bordeaux

Characterised by the largest, most magnificent head in dogdom and layered wrinkles on it's face and hefty exaggerated paws.
Originally used for cattle droving and guarding the vineyards in Bordeaux, this pug-faced french warrior has survived coming close to extinction through 1 national revolution and 2 World Wars.
Sometimes referred to as the French Mastiff, Bordeaux Bulldog or simply DDB.

Since the 1400's, the DDB has had many jobs including:
Herding cattle, Flock and property guarding, Hunting fercious game, Animal baiting and Dog fighting.

An extremely cooperative, intelligent and fearless giant, Powerful and surprisingly athletic, the DDB has never been intimidated and makes an excellent guardian.
Beneath all that toughness, lies a sweet, sincere, slobberingly loveable character that makes a wonderful companion.

Size: Between 45kg-50kg (100-110lbs) Bitches lighter than Dogs.
    Height: 23-26ins at withers.
Note: Size should be in proportion to the size of the head.

I know a man with a gorgeous bitch DDB, she is a stunning dog, aloof with strangers but very loyal to her master.

You can probably tell that Ruben and Izzy are of different 'Type'. Izzy has a shorter muzzle and is of stockier build, however the differences between them will not be as noticable as they mature, here is a picture of them together :smt008
