Hi, I'm Monty, rescued only 2 weeks ago from a shelter. My paperwork said I'm a Lakeland terrier but my new vet and groomer aren't so sure about this. My humans both agree to disagree so would appreciate some help, (although I know my mam is always right!) P.S. Sorry have just realised am unable to upload photo attachments yet, so best keep posting until I can; unless someone can help me out as I'm new to all of this. Thanks.
i keep Lakelands so as soon as you figure out how to post pictures put one up. You will need a photbucket account, they are free but you need to register, you up load your pictures to that account and then you copy the bottom link to here and your picture should load.
Hi leadstaffs, Thanks for the advice have just registered and uploaded some pics so here goes...... http://s1105.photobucket.com/albums/h359/Monty73/Monty%20August%202011/[/URL]/ Thanks
It could be a working Lakeland and it is also very common to cross lakelands with Borders for working purposes. I would suggest that is what Monty is. A lovely looking boy he is.
OMG he's cute! We dont have Lakelands here that I've ever seen, but he does look quite Border-ish (or should I say "esque?" ha ha) he is adorable though!
You do have Lakelands in Canada, well definatly show ones. In the UK we have show type and working type. I would say Monty is working type. Working type are often crossed with Borders or have Borders in their make up.
Oh I'm sure we have them, I've just never seen them here. (Canada is HUGE, I only live and travel in a very small portion of it ) I've never seen them at the big CKC spring and fall shows either, but then I've never seen an Irish Terrier, or an Australian Terrier at those shows either I'm sure if I went to the Calgary or Edmonton shows I'd see one, but not here.
Hello leadstaffs, WhichPets, Sara 'n'Scout. Thanks for the forum advice and comments about our good looking boy. I agree with leadstaffs, a Lakeland/ Border x though we love him to bits whatever he is - the good, the bad and the mad!!!
Pedigree (show) Lakelands are very rare and are presented a little like small versions of Wire Haired Fox Terriers. Yours looks more like a generic working type Lakeland and may well have some Border or even some "Jack Russell" in there. Whatever he is he'll be a big character! I hope you have lots of fun with him.
