Hello everyone, I am after a little bit of advice. We might be having a 2 year old JRT coming to stay and any advice on training, best food for them etc would be most welcome. He has not lived indoors before so toilet training tips too Thank you Judith
Start as you mean to go on because if a JRT thinks he can get away with something he will All terriers are stubborn and tenacious by nature and if at 2 years old he hasn't had much training you could have a job on your hands. With Pepsi I have found food works every time Toilet training needs to be done regularly at times you would expect a dog to "go" and praise and reward when successful. Can you find out what food he is used to, it would be better to keep him to what he has been having. Good luck, can we see pics when he arrives?
Thanks for the reply. It is a long story, my son who lives down South got him when he was about a year old, he got him from a man in a car park !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He has a docked tail so we dont know what he was used for before. My son lived at the time with his future mother in law who wouldnt let the dog in the house so he lived in a kennel outside. Son and girlfriend have moved into their own flat now and Archie has them wrapped round his little finger and gets away with blue murder. I was down there about a month ago and fell in love with the little scamp. He really is a lovely little boy who is not getting the time and attention that he needs and he just needs to be shown the right direction. I will keep you updated.
Well Michael if you have him he will certainly have landed on his feet All the best, I will look forward to the updates .... and pics!
Hello Dear, Here's some advice; STOP HIGHJACKING MY DOGSEY ACCOUNT ! Signed Michael Your long suffering husband. x
Royal Canin JRT http://www.royalcanin.co.uk/my_pet/dog_products/size_health_nutrition/mini_dogs/mini_adult.aspx is really good
Wow he's a solid little chap. Lodger likes chasing the odd tennis ball but I don't leave them with him as he'll peel them. Gives him something to chase that doesn't need skinning if he catches it. Plus one to the "Boundaries" natural born luck pushers.
Whahahaha that is hilarious, at least she was honest and signed her own name Michael BTW he certainly is a cutie
Tell me about it. My JRT Hobson even gets obsessed with a particular tennis ball if he has more than 1 to choose from. I'm visiting Weymouth at the end of October, could you maybe offer me some advice on great walks to have with the little man whilst I'm in the area?
