A friend has this breed. They rarely retrieve, are not driven (they`re a Guarding breed) and are too heavy to do a Scale so wouldn`t recommend them. Large Munsterlander?
There have been a couple of Large Munsterlanders in WT and made it to TDex but LW said she did not want a gundog.
Thats interesting---I wonder why not? I have only ever seen the one and that is doing HTM and forom the continent and is a really keen dog and has a geat temperament. Strange looking dogs though! A labradoodle might be an interesting dog to work in something. Most that I know appear quite bored with just being pet dogs! Supplementary question---at 18" does a dog have to do full jump heights for the first two classes? rune
Yes 10" and under have one size 15" and under have another >15" full size There is a cocker spaniel now in ticket who does the full height jumps!
Thanks, I know there used to be a WT at Oakhampton so wondered if I might work towards it. I have no access to scale though so I'd need to find someone. The rest I could sort out OK. rune
Have there been any (working) ESS at working trials SB (its the breed I have at the top of my list atm)
Hmmmm...that pushes me more toward them. Are there any breeders in particular that you would recommend?
No, there are loads out there and I am not au fait with them. What I would say is that VERY few breeders carry out all the health tests on their breeding stock so if you are planning to get one in the future, start researching now! There are all sorts of other health tests required for ESS other than hips eg eyes and fuci
I dont mind that, I wouldnt mind a bit of a challenge..the only thing this next dog must do, is water. Current three do not do it, trips to the beach are pointless with them!
