    Mali owners / security GSD

    Hi new to this site
I have been training working dogs for around thirty years mainly terriers and gundogs, four years ago i took on another job role in security and am now managing a site as the security manager , i have 1 GSD 50kgs male EDI trained dog he is a great guy nearing retirement so i went ahead and started to train his replacement with another GSD bitch but she didnt make her assesment as a protection dog so had to let her go.
We have a 13 wk old airedale as a house dog which i hope eventually he will look after the house / family when i get called out.
So second time around looking for a replacement i looked at a Mali after heaps of research on the net and talking to dog trainers i decided to take the plunge and go for a Mali  and after having my pup a belgian Mali cross dutch knpv dog for two days i am gob smacked he follows me every where, on a lead no problem walked up an open staircase 6 meters high on the out side of a building, hates being left alone for even five minutes he is spending his second night in his kennel tonight hopefully a little quieter tonight.
But what a fantastic courageous dog he also floored our Airedale the first time he met him for which he was repremanded, then he met my trained GSD this is a 50 kg silver grey dog and .........he raised his hackles and growled at him at 7 wks old! this will will be a challange.....

Hi Charlie and welcome to Dogsey.

Please be careful letting your pup follow you up staircases. I know how fearless pups can be. My BSD pup broke his leg at 11 weeks old after leaping off a step whilst onlead.

Would love to see pics of your boy

not sure it is a good idea posting photos on this site ? only because of the work they are involved in it is an active security role ? my working GSD is well known by the wrong people and i am concerned it may prevoke the wrong reaction to this site?

    Well I would say so............

Not sure what you actually fear?

Pictures of my dogs appear on this site, why would you think your dog is at more risk than mine or anyone else's and even if people see the picture, do you honestly believe that if they saw it in the street they would say "Oh look that is (insert relevant name) that belongs to (insert relevant name) that posts on Dogsey?

I don't think you have the monopoly on loving your dogs either. ;)

Posting pics is about 60% of the fun - so you'll be missing out if you don't

What kind of reaction do you think it will provoke?
