    Favourite Setter?

Just enjoying the wonderful Gordon Setter agility pictures and it made me think of the different varieties.
Which Setter is your favourite and why?

I love Setters, I think they're all gorgeous, I love the deep chestnut of the Irish, and the markings of the English...but I think my favourite has to be the Gordon. I think it's their overall look and I love that colouring...

    Anyone else?

I have owned and bred both the English and the Irish, I love both breeds but my heart is really with the English, although there is little to seperate them.

Since meeting Rach and seeing her adorable gang, I must admit I've had a hankering for a Gordon also

Oh that is a very tough question but guess as I have three Gordons right now it has to be the Gordon both in looks and personality ... they have my heart and soul - just a wonderful breed to own and share my life with

but I absolutely love the English and Irish - and hope I will always have one or both (shhh don't tell Ken) in my life too!

mine has to be the english.

every single one i have met i have fallen in love with and wanted to steal and take them home with me

i love their personality and their quirkyness and how gentle and loving they are.

havent had much experience with the others though so cant really comment.

That's such a tough question!! I adore Chester and the various markings of the english make them irresistible but I think it has to be gordons for me, I grew up with one that was absolutely the best ambassador for the breed and Griffin's just about sealed the deal for them despite him only being half and half! I hope to always own one or more of the above though, think once you've had one...

I have an Irish and also two English boys, plus have had two English girls. I love all the setters, but my heart belongs to the English... I never want to be without one again!

Irish Red and White for me, mainly because it's the closest looking to a Springer Spaniel!

Got to say, I love the Gordons, but also the irish red and white, I looked after one before at work, and he was manic as anything, and defiantly stood out there.

Doh! Just realised I should have done a poll! Is it too late to add one now? Oh well.
Looks like English and Gordon are pretty close, a couple for red and white...Not many Irish fanciers out there it seems, surprising.

Well as a younger person I always wanted an Irish, so gorgeous, but due to cercumstances the English came into my life (a little confession, at the time I only rthought there was Irish, uhhhhh!!!!! Thick or what.) well now there is no ways would I have anything else but an English, I just love everything about them, infact as I am writing this Kyesh is curled up on my knee.

I would love one of each, just for a matching set! But I love all setters, think they are fantastic dogs. I've personally met many more Irish than anything, and a neighbour had an Irish and an English when I was little, I adored the Irish as it's coat was a little darker than most and was the same colour as my hair!

Irish - always, followed by a Gordon. I love English and Red and Whites, but Irish and Gordons have my heart in a tight hold!
