Choosing Between Two SBT Pups General Chat

Hi,

I'm not able to visit the breeder to make my selection. Both pups are from the same litter. Personalities and conformation should be just fine. I have no qualms about picking one or the other. Please don't criticize me for not visiting the breeder - who is very reputable - it's just too far away and I'm not able to travel at this time.







The brindle & white was the smallest pup in the litter. I've never owned an all-white SBT. I currently have a 12 year old female SBT. My wife likes the brindle & white, and I'm leaning towards the all-white SBT.

I've posted here before. Your thoughts, if any!

If it were me I would choose the white one,I love whites and pieds.

I'm afraid I am an opposite - I have a real soft spot for Brindles!

All else equal, I would go for the brindle.

That would be really hard without seeing them in the flesh ..
My first thought would be the white but i do like the flash on the brindle...
Ps.. Do you call white on a staffy flash ??

Assuming both parents have had all the relevant health tests, it comes down to your personal choice of color. Unless you wished to show the dog, if that were the case Id go for the white one.

Personal choice I guess, I would go for the brindle.. But then I am not a fan of all whites dogs...
Shame you cant meet the breeder or pups before picking - thats the responsible thing to do..

Joking apart, as you say they are reputable breeders so ask their advice, they will know the puppies temperaments, how playful they are etc and should be able to help? I'm visiting my pup (GSD) but am putting a lot of trust in the breeder to help me choose which pup will be right for me as I have chatted with them at length, they are the ones spending time with them, even if you could go and visit you'd still want their input as the 20/30 minutes you spend choosing the pup might not actually be a true picture of how the pup is normaly?

I actually think the brindle is gorgeous, let us know and put some pics up once you have it (them lol)

Have you checked to make sure the parents are L2 & HC tested? (L2 testing is imperitive in SBT's) Assuming they have been..........

Thanks for all your replies. The pups are from the same litter and are both L2 & HC tested and clear.

All the SBT dogs I have owned have been brindle and white and only one that you would classify as pied. Both parents of the pups are champions. It's just a matter of choosing by color and conformation. Your votes have been in favor of the all-white, which is where I am leaning; my wife, likes the brindle.

I'll have to let the breeder know by Monday morning.

Must admit I'd choose the brindle and white, but then I like brindles lol, good luck with whoever you decide though .

i'd go for the Brindle, I love the way they have nice shiny fur...

I like the brindle.... but the other ones face is cute!

how cute are they? Not an easy choice at all. are you going for a female again? Are these both female? I dont think anyone should be critisizing you if you have looked after a dog for 12 years. Whichever you go for I'm sure you will do great with the dog.

To me it depends where you walk them lol
Muddy walks = get the brindle lol

What about your current SBT - what about getting the one furthest from her colour?
