I was wondering how tall and what weight my lovely girl should be roughly she is 7 months old and is 23 inches to shoulder and weighs 58 lb and 12.80 oz (4.2 stone) i believe this to be about right for a rottie but just thought id check with other dog owners just so i know she is ok. she has recently been moved onto adult food and all is well with it. there is plenty of pictures of her if you look at older threads. thanks shaun PS i know im a pain but its allways better to check with other experienced dog owners.
The "problem" with this is, like people, all dogs are individuals. Especially with a crossbreed, it can be hard to guess a height or build. You're much better off going by eye - if you can feel, but not quite see her ribs, chances are she's a good weight. If you can't, or can only just feel her ribs, she's probably a bit overweight. If you can see them easily, she may be underweight - but as a 7 month old, she is still growing and may easily go through a lanky stage where all her energy is going into growing upwards, not outwards, and some dogs can look a little too lean at this stage.
thanks mate. i just rang a rottie breeder in whitehaven and he was a angel in disguise i told him her weight and size and he said it sounds spot on due to the cross breed. according to a rottie chart i just found she is more on course to a rottie size than a husky size. i apreciate your words mate it was her hieght i was more worried about as she dont seem to have grew hieght wise in a wee while my dad hadnt seen her for over 2 months and thinks she is same size. got me questioning things, obvously she had a early growth spurt then stopped.
