What are the differences between the Welsh Sheepdog and the Border Collie? From looking at pictures they seem to be slightly taller and thicker set, have more sable coloured dogs and seem to lack the black mask the Border Collies do, are there any other differences between the 2 breeds?
I have judged, tracklayed, stewarded etc for BC/WSD and Welsh Sheepdogs. And it is only the owners who tell you what it is, they look exactly the same.............
LOL---I know of one who was welsh sheepdog at one show and a BC and the next. Just looked on the site and they seem to want a different way of working, they don't want the dog to drop right down like BC's sometimes do. A friend of mine has a Welsh Sheepdog x Border Collie, he is more like the Welsh Sheepdog in character, very independant, looks like a tall sable Border Collie, my friend does working trials and the dog has 1 CC and works TDX.
