lovely pictures!!!! I was brought up with rough collies, I was even given my 1st dog as a child aged 4 - a sable collie called duke who shared my birthday, he was my best friend, we had over the years 7 of them in total and they were all lovely, I think they have such soulful eyes.
Had roughs since the day I was born. Here's Alfie, he is 2 in jan next year and my current rough collie.
Aren't they gorgious I grew up with a RC at my aunts house . A neighbour who had lost her husband in the war was emigrating to New Zealand and left her dog behind with us. My Sister in law has them too and used to breed and show. When her last dog died she decided it was time to call it a day, both she and her husband were getting older so she packed up all her doggy stuff to take to the local rescue. A stray RC in a terrible state was just being bought in and she couldn't resist so she reserved the dog and took her home a few weeks later.
Another one here who would like to compliment Alfie! He's lovely! xx I have a tri-colour Rough' and even having had Whisper for only one year (she's a rescue girly) we've become true fans of the breed. Does Alfie get lots of compliments when he's out? Whisper constantly gets praise and comments whenever we are out with her. xx
Aw thank you ever so much! Whisper looks beautiful too! Yes, he does get a lot of attention and he loves it. He shows himself off so well, puts his ears up and sticks his chest out proudly. We get people stopping their cars to ask about him, a few near misses with accidents as the driver wasn't looking!! People usually stare for ages at his face and then look up and say his markings are so beautiful! He's got a big head now!!!!
All the photos are lovely....I get asked a lot if mines a sheltie! She's nothing like one, only the colour and hair length. Someone also said " Ah a rough collie...such a 70's dog!
