hi there can anyone recommend any AM breeders in the SW uk or around 150miles (upto wales etc)? Thank you
A few good ones but many to avoid ... Good breeders show and/ or work their dogs and with success.... Breeding dogs should be hipscored and eye tested and bred for a reason not just ££ pm me and I will share some good breeders
Hiya, i know we are looking for all that...money isn't an option, we know we are going to be paying around the 1k mark....i can't use the PM system on here yet as i'm new x
I thought they cost about £800? Goodluck with your quest. I am sure Muddiwarx will point you in the right direction xxxx
Personally I wouldn't limit yourself to finding breeders within a certain location, you may find the best pup for you is slightly further a field. However if you are restricted to your local area then you will need to do a lot of research, because as Muddiwarx said whilst there are a couple of decent breeders in the South West, unfortunately there are many more who aren't. Make sure you see copies of the parents eye test results (these must have been done within the past year to be current) and their hip scores as a minimum. You also need to ensure you thoroughly quiz the breeder about the health problems in their line and if they tell you there aren't any then walk away as they will be lying. Temperament is also a huge factor when choosing an Alaskan Malamute and unfortunately some temperaments can be rather circumspect if this hasn't been taken into account when breeding. Since you are unable to PM I would suggest you contact the chairman of the Alaskan Malamute Club. He lives in the South West so should be able to assist you with your enquiries. His details can be found on the AMCUK website: AMCUK
Thanks everyone, i am building up my posts so i should be able to PM you today muddiwarx! also has anyone heard of/dealt with KERNOWERGHKI? (cornish mals) as i said i will build my posts up - and if you do have any info about them (they're on the AMCUK website) then at least you'll be able to PM me Cheers xx
As I said - contact the chairman of the club, they have been in Mals for a long time and will be able to steer you in the right direction. They live in Devon.
