Hello, I have owned Rotties for 20 years. For exercise at that age, I would try to keep on a lead and limit walks to 30mins, and ideally 2 or 3 times a day.The joints etc are very vulnerable to damage if too much strain is put on until at least 12 months. I would not play ball games as twists cancause damage. I had over exercised my first Rott and caused a bit of lameness but good rest will help if you do overdo it.Good luck, as they are brilliant dogs. Cheers,Mike
I am fortunate to have a nice exercise yard for my dogs. I restrict puppies until about 4 months. Until 4 months puppies are confined to smaller exercise areas, and always supervised if with another dog. By about 4 months, they are big enough to run with an experienced older dog out in the yard. I like for my puppies from 4 months on to get a LOT of vigorous exercise. We DO play ball and fetch games! Proper diet for slower steady growth, proper socialization and training exercise for the BRAIN is also important in raising a healthy well rounded puppy.
