the middle aged man comment was a generalisation not a personal insult so i apologise if i offended you in any way sal.

as for the drs and flynn dogs you can find decendents if you look hard enough, and you are correct about the psycho line but many a byb will tell you there staffy type is 'irish psycho strain' to bump up the price of a dog with no papers. it was just advice to heed when looking for an irish stafford.

my dog has kc papers and is pure staffy but she doesnt conform to the standard, shes too tall. but i was there when she was concived and born so i know what she is. i do get a little bitter when i get asked if shes a pit/irish/olde tyme, and the dog wardens round my way cant tell the difference between a boxer cross and a pit bull type so i worry a bit but such is life,

now i dont mind what you do with your dog as long as its well cared for and happy, if it important to you to show your dog then fair play to you, i just get wound up about the 'doggy right wing' who think that because a dog has paper work and conforms to type then its superior to another that hasnt and doesnt. coss lets be honest, they all spend atleast 10 minutes a day licking their genitals no matter how many trophys theyve won x

    Don't disagree with anything here.
I also have a stafford who is above the standard and I have bred one or two also from standard dogs.
But the difference between a type dog and a not type do is more than just its height, unfortunatly it is the one thing that those who know no better hang on.
I worried about the knowledge of our local dog enforcers so I have contacted them and built a relationship with them, I have help with some dog awarness days they have had. The purpose of these days was to make people aware of diffeent types of dogs and responsibilities of dog ownership.

To add I posted something on here in the cross breed section re the status dog unit and the fact they no loger accept KC paper wrk as proof a dog is not type

I thought they never did accept paperwork as im sure in 91 a lot of kc dogs with papers were rounded up and taken.

Dan reference flynn dogs I doubt if you would find these in a pure form there is only 2 of these dogs left in the uk a shame really no one kept the line going same could be said for pure drs and these are very old dogs there are a few flynn/red strain crosses but not many most have been watered down.

how are people whos staffys have been confused with pit bull type supposed to prove otherwise???

friggin goverment the worlds going to hell in a hand basket, houses arent worth what we paid for em, my road tax is £400 a year, and now they can come and take my best friend away, lock her in a kennel, then give her the lethal injection any time they feel like it and i can do sod all about it, then i get slapped with a 5 grand fine, get 6 months of porrige and a criminal record to boot :x .

lengthy legal battles, and doggy dna may be the future, but then, what if say in the 70's your prize winning kc registerd pure bread staffys great, great, great, great grandfather had a bit of pit bull in him. does that mean your staffy is pb type?

and why dont we have a 'fila type' or a 'tosa type' or 'dogo argentina type'
and another thing, while im ranting, irish staffys are now deemed type, even though what i think of as an irish come from a line of breeding from which there are many kc registerd dogs (dublin red, flynn/evergreen)

rediculus, the entire thing is a shambles, ban the owner not the dog!!!!!!!!
