    Breeders of long haired Daschunds?

    Hi all

    A friend of mine is after a long haired daschund puppy but doesnt know any breeders. I was wondering if anyone knew of any to recommend?

    Also does anyone know if there is a difference in temperament between bitches and dogs?

    Any help much appreciated! :)

    got no idea as far as breeders etc.. but i thought a couple of nice piccies of my little Mia daddy would be nice to show your friend.. if she loves long haired daxies.. as he is a handsome boy. :mrgreen:

    Hi Kristina, :) suggest they contact the breed club (details online) they will be able to advise on health issues if any and have a list of approved breeders who have signed up to a code of ethics, (there is also a section for rescue dogs).

    I guess im looking for more personal recommendations * experience really lol. I dont know why but i dont personally know anyone with a daschie! x

    My Dachs, Percy I got 3rd hand so I haven't got any personal recommendations but I agree contact a breed club as they will help. Also I would suggest that your friend makes sure that both parents have been DNA tested for PRA and are clear, or at least one of them is clear, to ensure that her pup doesn't go blind.
    My Percy is a chocolate dapple, gratuitous piccie alert!

    It would also depend on whether you wanted a standard or a mini :)
