- My Story:
-
I used to work as a lecturer at a local college but became very disillusioned with the job. so in August 2000 I took voluntary redundancy and got out. As dogs have always been my passion in life I started training to become canine behaviourist with Compass. I recently got a Foundation Degree through them. I have now worked as a behaviourist since 2002. Love every minute of it.
As I have always had rescue Border Collies I wanted to bring up a puppy. I chose this beautiful pup called Charlie (with one blue eye!) I was madly in love with him. But when he was 20 months old he must have had a back injury. One night he screamed and as I picked him up he died in my arms. The vet did an autopsy and found that a cartiledge in his spine had exploded and a fibre got lodged in his brain. It killed him instantly and ther is absolutely nothing anyone could have done for him. It broke my heart. I went to the breeder (it was not a fault in his breed) to cry my eyes out and while I was there I noticed an adult Border Collie in the "retired section" whom I had always adored. Gorgeous lad! He was now on the scrap heap because he had behaved badly in the kennel on several occasions. I took him home and he is now my gorgeous boy. Ao devoted to me! Well, I have also got another puppy who moved in with me at 9 weeks named Boogie. He is the sweetest thing ever! Well, and then there is Holly who holds the pack together. Three lovely companions!
