    My Story:
I am a self employed builder and I live with Shirley my long term partner, we have been together for 11yrs.
We are great lovers of the Sharpei but have had a terrible time over the last 6yrs. Our first dog Shady was a male and at the age of 4 1/2 yrs died of amaloydosis, we also had a female Ruby who was 3 yrs old at the time he died, in June this year she died at the age of 6yrs of amaloydosis. When Ruby was 4 yrs we got another male Dudley and he died last night 9/8/06 also of amaloydosis at the age of 3 yrs we are very distraught as we have lost all our dogs within approx 8yrs and the last two within
3mths. I cannot describe our loss in words but why has nobody sorted out this terrible problem in Sharpei which looks as though it is still inbred and widespread. Are there any breeders out there that can honesly say they have not got this problem in their dogs ? as I would like another Sharpei but we are so afraid of going through this dreadful experience all over again.
