    My Story:
Hi, I'm Dawn. I'm very happily married to my second husband Gwyn, & I have 3 grown up children, Andrew, Daniel & Victoria. They all live at home still, with our 2 girlies Simba & Sophie.
Simba is a 15 year old crossbreed rescue dog, my best friend & companion through good & bad times, & the reason I joined this site. She has some serious health problems (severe dementia is the latest) & I was looking for some advice & reassurance, which I have to say I received in abundance from the great members on here.
Sophie was given to us by my lovely Auntie Jose, just before she passed away last year. Sophie is a 12 yr old pedigree shih tzu who my auntie re-homed at the age of 4 when she had out lived her use as a breeder. She is partially sighted due to ulcers & keratitis, has arthritis in her shoulders & elbows, & recently ruptured a cruciate ligament for which she has undergone treatment using a tens machine & physio. She's an absolute joy to be around, always happy to see us, but not too keen on rain or walks, even though we only go 200 yards due to her ailments!
I work for the ambulance service as a liaison assistant. I halved my hours a couple of years ago in order to spend more time with my father who was diagnosed with cancer. Gwyn & I take him & my step mum out every week, usually ending up with a big meal & a bigger glass of wine!
