- My Story:
-
Dog's are my main passion in life, always have been. I currently do agility (but don't compete) with my 2 year old Border Collie & i do Gun dog work with my Spaniel mix. My plan for either this year or next is to get a another working-lined Border Collie and compete in obedience and agility.
I don't like telling other "dog fanatics" my age because i feel they don't/won't take me seriously as a trainer and/or take my advice regarding dogs. I am also a member of Yahoo Answers! which i particpate in the Dog Section regulary.
I was born into a family of dogs. My parents had a beautiful Whippet/Collie mix that lived up to age 15 whilst my grandparents had a Jack Russell as well as 3 working Gun dogs and my other Grandparents had a Westie. My aunt had a Lab and the other a Collie/Lab mix. I saw these dogs regulary and grew up with them.
I was taught from a very young age how to act around dogs, as soon as i could walk i went with my father and grandfather with the dogs. As soon as i could understand he showed me the best ways (in his opinion) to train them and work with them. Then one day he showed me a Border Collie working sheep at a sheepdog trial that is when my love for Border Collie's started to grow.
To this day Border Collie's are and always will be my "heart breed".
