Collar arrangement on these working GSDs

Just been browsing GSDs and I came across these lovely, hard working dogs. Just wondered about the collar arrangement, the dog seems to have to collars on, a thick fabric one, then a metal one:

Hi WW - they are lovely dogs. I'm being a bit thick, which pic are you looking at for the collars? Without seeing it - is one maybe a check chain?

Until about a week ago, Jess used to wear two collars.

A "normal" collar (Rogz for Dogz) and then a half check.

She's only got the "normal" one on now until I can find a decent leather half check one.

If you would like to see the dog I am asking about you have to click on above link, then on news, and then on the name Kontra.

Ahhh i see what you mean  One looks like a fursaver check chain and the other just a normal web collar with clip. Maybe the web collar is just like a house collar?

    Gorgeous pups though

The chain is probably a pinch collar used quite commonly in Germany & they are not the horrific things UK people believe them to be(they do not have sharpened points like the collars frequently used on working gundogs)

Petra who bred & owns Kontra is a close friend of mine & will hopefully be the breeder of my next GSD

Awww, it's like having a new baby - hard work but worth it  .

My next pup will be a while off yet, had to increase my hours at work :-( , never mind, my time will come - gives me plenty of time to research and find the right one

Don't forget, we need lots of lovely pics when your pup arrives, just to make me feel better

They are gorgeous GSDs. When is your pup coming Dyane? Out of interest, are there no breeders of a type/temperament you like in the UK?
