I'm glad that Huskies don't have much to offer this new "breed" - even if it is "virtual."
I don't understand your reference to "large ears" though. A good standard fitting husky does not and should not have large ears. Unfortunately, a lot of badly bred huskies do have large ears, as do many bred for speed alone without regard to the breed standard.

I'd need to go back and read the thing about the Sammies Louise but it does talk about the genetics for the white colour and eyes...:)

rather than adding a breed to achieve ear size becky,

    poss an idea???

get what you want conformationaly from the original primordal soup, then keep the types that would fine tune the look of the breed for further breeding?

Well they are larger than would be desirable so no point adding this as they wouldn't achieve anything. I don't mean that disrespectfully to Huskys I think they are great dogs!

I think reducing ear size this way would be very very difficult as most of them seem to have large or very large ears and ignoring that point until you got body structure right could mean this part would never be achieveable. I believe ear size is one of the things that would make a dog far more wolf like. If you don't believe me find a good head shot of a GSD then have a play in photoshop and make the ear's smaller. You'd be surprised at how different the dog looks!

I know this is virtual and all that but ref ear size, maybe it isn't possible to get them down, much in size and keep all the other characteristics looking as wolfy as possible? If we look at the dogs that are crossed with wolves, what are their ears like? I think , not that small??

They are certainly smaller than those I've seen on wolf type dogs.

Still don't understand - even huskies with oversized ears still have smaller ears than GSDs and standard fitting dogs ears are tiny compared with GSDs:

Given the choice of Mick's husky ears (in that pic) and Mish's grons ears (in that pic) virtually you'd have to go for Mick's husky i think.

Perhaps it does depend on the cross then. This is an F2 Hybrid,

For size, yes I would agree... But I think the shape is wrong i.e. they are pointed, think we are looking for rounded ears?

Yes, see where you are coming from but was just going between what was best between the two photo's for ears.
Realistically your never going to get a dog that looks like a wolf without adding wolf but its a lot of fun trying (virtually)
