    Amazed by my Beagle

My wife was walking the dogs down on the beach with a couple of mates between them had 2 Beagles, 1 Dalmation,1 Cocker, 1Westie, 1 shitzu and 2 Chihuahua(not sure about the spelling) They got around 30mins into the walk when one of the Chihuahuas(Bean) was running through the sand when he got caught up in the sinking mud/sand the more he struggled the deeper he was getting so the girls started taking off there coats to start laying them down onto the sand for support and next thing one of my beagles(JEZ) started to wade through the mud and to everyones amazement started to nudge Beans behind until he could get his feet unstuck.Everyone who was there was totally gobsmacked. I thought i would share this to see if anyone else dog had done something similiar.

What a fantastic dog you have! You must be very proud. As a Chi-aholic, I think your Beagle is Super Dog! Give him a big kiss from the Cheeky Chis:grin:

Yeah just chuff to bits with him, he has always come across intelligent compared to my other hounds and quite sensitive with smaller dogs.A fellow dog walker desribed as the most competative dog he had seen. If Jez has to run a Lurcher down he will, i mean he cant catch with speed but he will just run and run till they lay down exhausted.

I was wading in the river, I had a small dog with me who NEVER goes near water, I thought she was terrified of it, anyway, I musta got too far away from her and she bolted after me. she started floating downstream, she was not strong enough for the current. A golden retriever ran up to her and went on the downstream side of her, preventing her from going any further downstream. when I got close to her, she just turned around and swam back to shore, with Cody walking along side, he stayed with her until she was out of the water.

Dogs are amazing, I woulda got to Zoe before she got too far, as the water was only knee deep there, but Cody knew she was in trouble and acted on his own to save her.

Wow what wonderful dogs. I hope they got extra psecial treats. I think if my Percy (dachshund) started floating off down stream the poodles would just stand and watch
