He has wanted to spread the word outside of the US, but as an illegal immigrant if he left he would not have been able to return-so now he's legal, he will be able to visit the UK & give us all(& our world domination planning dogs)the benefit of his ultimate knowledge of all thing canine.

I do hope you are able to attend one of his "dos"so you can be close up & personal with him-Just hope he doesn't bring one of his APBT with him as of course the are illegal in the UK & would be impounded

Don't worry, I'm sure CM won't go bringing any APBT into the Country. He's probably heard how the British can be brainless when it comes to certain breeds. Mind you, I wasn't aware that Chis were on the "hated" list until tonight:lol:   Now, I'd better get off and get the Chis muzzled and tied up for the night - cos you know how aggressive they are!!!! NOT!!!!!!!!

No arguements for this quarter, but your right BD, I actually watched this of the TV a while back, and I so felt for that dog.

I was sat there thinking.....god it's gasping, release it. infact I was really concern for it.

I felt it was cruel, but then thats my opinion.;-)

I didn't like that video at all... I reckon the dog was 'set up' in favour of the TV program... How sad! :?

Teaching other animals are done by positive reinforcement... You can hardly put a choker on or kick a whale...

Agree completely Dawn.. the dog was choking , it was also very obviously showing signs of appeasement , but CM failed to see any of it...and it seems so do many of his fans.

The clip for me, shows the situation CM got himself into.. basically he bit (pardon the pun) off more than he could chew... you only have to look at his face to see the light switching on.

But I will say this for CM the one thing he does getright is teaching his clients .. that dogs are dogs, not stuffed toys.

As the one thing these people seem to forget it that dogs need exersice..

So true!! I love the clicker training they are doing in zoos to get dangerous animals able to be checked out without the need for sedation - and coming up the the bars and offering their shoulders for injections and things - sooo much less stress on the animal and the people

Why the need to go slagging off Chihuahuas!!!! What is wrong with you people???? This thread is about CM for goodness sake! You can say what you like about Chis as mine are all lovely pets. You should know better than judge by breed alone! Still, that's what I've come to expect from a few on here, prejudice - disgusting:evil:

Excuse me for jumping in late! :001:

I can't say as a general rule I eather agree or disagree with CM's techniques coz if I'm honest I think I've probably only ever watched his show once, however from watching that clip this is how I also percieved it to be.

Submitting my ass!! That dog was suffocating and practically on the verge of passing out, and thats why it went down so easily.

Yep, thats how I saw it. The problem is a lot of people on some forums see NI/Wolfdog types as the types that "need" CM training, its very evident he is revered in these circles, there will be a time when something very serious goes wrong!

No Im not backing up here, I still do like a lot of what he says and does, but alpha rolling and choking are not some of them!!

this was my post in nswer to cheekychihauas.

normally i support cms ways of training.
however in this case i was appalled. the only reason the dog stopped attacking was cos he couldnt breathe. watch it again and you will realise that.
he didnt gain respect by dominating the dog he was killing it.
he was in pain.what nonsense that his bits were out cos he was trying to dominate, he was in pain. when a dog is in pain this will often happen, it also happens when they are ill.
the dog didnt give in he was losing conciousness.
disgraceful and to think people will copy cm.

.Dawn :) I pointed this out when we discussed the topic in a previous thread ..

    http://www.dogsey.com/showthread.php?p=1583907#post1583907

..I have watched a number of other videos 'featuring' CM and have seen nothing to alter my views that he is an entertainer first and for most and not a serious dog trainer or a behaviourist and most of the methods he uses don't bear scrutiny.

While I believe that CM does have a lot of sucsess with his methods, I definately would not use them on a Northern Inuit !

Ok have just read the other thread about cm and can actually see some good points in that one both for and against cm, i still havn't seen the whole program and do still think that cm touched/nudged/kicked the dog after it looked at the other dog it reacted to the touch/nudge/kick and he tightened the lead, yes the lead was tight for too long but i didn't get to see the dogs usual behaviour towards the collie and its owners to see whether it redirected any aggression fear based or not onto its owners when stopped from reacting to something before, just wish i could find the whole episode.

Bowing out of the thread now.
