I already asked BD to identify the dogs she thought were not Saarloos like in her opinion; still waiting. I have seen over 100 Saarloos+ in the flesh. The comparison of a Saluki or similar say Borzoi etc is simply irrelevant to comparison of a dog showing 'wolf like' behaviour. Sorry but its true. It is a different way of thinking. I am not aware that anyone is actually crossing wolves with dogs in the UK at this time. Perhaps you do?
No Dawn-youl answer nothing-fullstop. You have made a slur on a kennel and people's dogs without foundation. This is rude. Maybe if others take a step back and look at the words FRENCH LAW. They will see that somebody is either not in full possession of the facts or is telling porkies. check mate
And I told you, did I not say Genova was untypical? As like the temperaments on a couple, in a breed that is supposed to show no aggression, but flee rather than attack, at least two of the bitches definitley DID show and inclination to come forward rather than back off did they not? Do YOU call this typical? Dont forget this ended up with one being shot!
I think you mentioned that several were untypical; please direct me to these. You mention two bitches that came forward. Genova 'escaped'; Saarloos are renowned for being escape artists, it has be written about on club internet sites for years. The other dog could not flee as it was in a kennel(?) Also bitches in season and in pup suffer tremendous hormonal changes that can effect their normal character- some suffer more than others, as I have witnessed. Any other comment is really hearsay.
Go look yourself, do you think they are good representatives in mind and body of the Saarloos Wolfdog, all of them? Are you saying the correct facilities were not made for these dogs then when they arrived? How old was Genova when she had her litter? I seem to remember Zsa Zsa being referred to as "difficult"? I agree their temperament can change, do you then, think it was fair to shoot a dog dead that may, going on what you have just said, be only displaying "hormonal" behaviour?
Now I realise that some of you dogseyers may not like the way Ive gone about exposing this information. Maybe seen as a bit cheeky or worse However, I would really appreciate it if you could all take a step back and really look at this information. 1) Dawn has cast aspersions on a French Kennel, wolfdogowners dogs and many of our wolfdog crosses. 2) This information is based on a secretive source which she is yet to reveal. 3) The foundation of her claims is based on a court case in which she alleges the complainant is based in Britain. THIS CONTRAVENES FRENCH LAW. THERE IS NO MUDDY WATER HERE AND NO DEBATE. How would you feel as an owner given the above information?
NO ONE has said the complainant is Paul Winder!!! He has the evidence and has passed it on.. IN this country the RSPCA can take you to court.. Is it not conceivable that some sort of organisation could be taking this french kennel to court and the British person is supplying the evidence??? Also..Dawn never cast aspersions..they are all over the internet for anyone to see..and she voiced her personal opinion over the dogs..which she is allowed to do.. IF I was an owner given the above information..I would be very worried..and trying to find out more!! but of course none of the questions are ever answered!! and when they are asked they are deleted!!
Not just me, go look at other threads! I have no problem with any dog at all whatsoever, its not their fault is it, they didnt ask to be born. 4 sources actually, and it will remain that way. WRONG AGAIN! I have "claimed" nothing, Paul/Ronnie Winder has, I have (as have others) asked questions based on his findings. You need to read before commenting.
I do not know anything about this kennel, BUT looking at the pic's from the links that were posted on another thread, I am worried about the poor condition of some of the dogs. If ANY of my dogs looked like that I would be really concerned and I def would not be showing them in such a state, and would have had them to the vet even before they reached such poor condition. IMHO.
Did I say the complainant was Paul Winder? Yes it is inconcievable because THAT IS THE LAW "personal opinions" are "aspersions" As an owner I am inclined to believe somebody who has actually visited the kennels i.e. WOLFDOGOWNER. I am also inclined not to believe somebody who says its not the dogs its the breeders then goes on to give her negative "personal opinions" about the dogs. Louise its staring right at you ITS THE LAW Whatever you do or dont like that is unbendeable. That is THE TRUTH
Wolfdogowner When did you last visit this kennel? Did you see any dogs that looked as under wieght as the dogs now on their website? Just to point out i am not taking sides here, I am just trying to find out the truth, not that im saying anyone is lieing, omg should i just put my foot in my trap now
Geezer. Have you read the other threads on the BREED SPECIFIC forum, ALL owners of Saarloos and CWD's, concerning the kennel in question? How about the referral to somebody's dog looking like a "typical CsV x Saarloos" I got the impression they didnt buy it as that?
THE FRENCH ONES there are numerous As you say, in your own inimitable style GO AND LOOK THEM UP YOURSELF But ill give you a clue-its regarding French businesses Im still waiting for you to answer wolfdogowners thread properly. Seems to me you havent yet? Off to bed now cheery
I have answered the post Geezer, and Ill contact the French authorities myself if I cant find the info I require via you as you seem to know all about it. If I get any info from them Ill post it on here. Have a good night.
Why do you feel it is irrelevent? Do you not feel that the aloofness shown by the breeds is something from thier heritage that has been encouraged as it has been in the SWDs and the CWDs? The only real difference I can see or hear from what is said is the looks. I haven;t known and semi feral Borzois but I have met and worked with a semi feral Saluki. (She was caught as a stray, but was bred indoors - we think - and trained as a coursing dog before she escaped). Her behaviour is what I would call very Wolflike....maybe thats not right.....very wild animal like might be better. She is very shy of strangers, I have never known her to snap but she run from situations.
Yes and I worked with a Saluki that was shy as well, he was rescued by and angry motorist from a bunch of teenagers kicking more than just the s**t out of it. Feral dogs and wolves are simply not quite the same. Where dogs may show many charachteristics you could attribute to their wolf ancestry, the way they think is different. Essentially some one once pointed out to me a long time ago; kick a dog and it will come back; kick a wolfdog and you will never see it again. They are more independent thinkers. The wolfy charachteristics are present to a greater or lesser degree in the wolfdog breeds. The difference between the two has been observed in places like Italy where scientists have found it difficult to see or track wolves that feed from rubbish tips, while the feral dogs tend not be too concerned about the general presence of humans the most the observers get to see of of a wolf is the warning 'wuff' they give before they disappear into thin air.
Louise darling, All the complaints come back to one person don't they? A certain gentleman who thinks its fine to cross wolves with wolfdogs and sell then the the general public but NEVER gets criticized on here? I think if you read the 'breed specific' forums Dawn mentions that they all get wise in the end.
