That`s what i said on another thread... that if it is true that wolf was added in the beginning... there is more wolf in the NI than the Saarloos or Czech. As it was a lot more recent than the last time wolf was added to either of the other breeds. Especially anyone who has Taz in their ped.. as he was supposed to be pure wolf, bred by Eddy from 2 wolves that came from a wildlife park... then was hidden with another breeder when the s**t hit the fan with JK and the wolf dog thing.

For those of you who think a wolf was used what type of wolf would it be?

Janie ive looked at pics of Taz, i'm by no means any kind of expert and can only give my personal opinion. I dont believe Taz was the result of two pure wolves but i do think it is likely that Taz was a wolf hybrid and therefore in my personal opinion so is your girl.

And it's so clear to see that there isn't more wolf in the NI than the Saarloos or Czech!!

But if there is so much doubt over the background of the NI, WHY are they being crossed with the Saarloos/Czech. Why not cross the Saarloos/Czech with a KC breed?

Or not cross them at all, of course

    I'll have a guess

1/ They are the wolfiest looking.
2/ They are not as unhealthy as is made out.
    3/ They are widely available.
4/ NI/Ute breeders need to outcross to a line they know is healthy.

Always been my point, why cross an established breed with dogs that the breeders are saying are unhealthy? Makes no sense.

Well there seems to be a market Navajo & while there is a market people will cross.

Gemma i'm not so sure as much money is made as you think, ive got three dogs and they cost a lot of money & time, not that i grudge this in the slightest, i dont, they are worth every penny but they are expensive and time consuming. If i was ever to be a breeder then it would take ALL of my time and i dont doubt ALL of my money to do it properly.

But we are getting off the point of the thread, are NI & Ute wolfdog hybrids?

No. As already mentioned, they're £750 for a cross and £1500 + for a pure Czech.
