Not the same dogs Nero? How do you work that out?
According to you they cant do the jobs they were intended for, which again and correct me if I'm wrong, was guarding the tax collector and war dogs, now I must be a bit stupid here because none of that happens anymore.

Just for curiosity do you 'work' your Rottweilers?

To be honest, although I think the docking ban may have had an impact I think the economical crisis is a far bigger factor. I think this year may see an even bigger drop of registrations (although this doesn't necessarily translate into numbers bred) and the larger breeds may see a greater drop than the smaller ones, although this seems to have been a trend over recent years as more people seem to be going for smaller breeds.
However, in particular relation to the Rottie then I think this is a good thing as they got far too popular.

Just had a quick look and compared the working group (predominantly large breeds) with the toy group (predominantly small breeds) and the Working group over 10 years has had a 12.03% drop in registrations and the toy group a 12.49% rise in registrations over the same period.
