Stunning white Chihuahua pup, 3 months old, male, bright blue eyes, medium haired. Mum and Dad KC Registered, pup can come with papers for an additional cost.
Both parents can be seen, a lovely natured dog, brought up round lots of other dogs and children, playful nature, must be seen.
He's going for £650 so you can see why im confused x

No, I don't think there is a risk with unregistered Chis. You just have to make sure you find a good breeder that is breeding healthy pups from healthy parents with sound temperaments.

CHIHUAHUA PUPPIES Smooth coat, 2 girls, 1 boy, raised in loving family home, vet checked, insured, fully inoculated, ready now. 950 - girls, 750 - Boy

Now i know these are free add's but it does get slightly confusing, would a decent breeder sell a bitch more than a boy?

Because he's £650 is that not cheap for a chi?

Don't know about other breeds but, YES, a KC reg Chi boy at the moment would be about £800 whereas a girl of the same about £1200

Without sounding dumb but is it because you can breed from a girl?

No, not if he's unregistered, didn't the ad say that papers were optional at extra cost? They probably would charge an extra £100 or so for papers, even though they actually cost them in the region of about £12:roll:

I would contact The Chihuahua Club

Their members are bound by quite a lot of ethics rules & you could be buying anything if the breeder is not a member.

Why does the dog have to be chocolate ? A healthy well bred puppy of any standard colour should be your first aim, if the puppy is also chocolate that's a bonus.

I know some Chihuahua breeders quite well(showing dogs on the same days does help)& they breed for health rather than colour.

A(sadly now deceased)friend of mine had the last Champion bred by Thelma Gray, she was a stunning tri colour longcoat & lived with a houseful of GSDs, who she ruled with a paw of steel.

Yes, I've heard that the Chi normally rules the household when living with other breeds but I would worry from the 'accidental' side. I am a worrier though:blush: If you've got 4lbs of Chi as opposed to several stones of GSD or similar, I just see there could be a disaster waiting to happen. Like I said though, I would like a large breed in time so would be interested to hear how other people manage large and toy breeds together:001:

Hm well this bitch lived well into her late teens & all their dogs lived indoors. Not all GSDs are a danger to little dogs. Our last GSD bitch loved tiny puppies & was never any danger to them ever

Don't get me wrong, I'm not labelling GSD's just saying, the sheer size/weight of a large breed (whatever the breed) is a worry in case they step on the Chi, that's all. My experience since having the Chis has been that large breeds tend to love them. No trouble at all. That has made me see large breeds in a different light. I have no personal experience with large breeds - always having had toy dogs. They are gentle giants but, after hearing about the large breed that accidentally stepped on a Chis back (both chasing a ball - snapping the Chis spine) I can't help worrying. Like I said before, probably just a freak accident but I can't help but have it on my mind when I think of Chis and large breeds:001:

    Thanks for that hun,
Yes I know I want a well bred pup who is also healthy but I would like a chocolate one and if i have to wait for one then i will, I dont want to buy a lovely pup with a colour I dont want just because im 2 impatient to wait.

I definitely think it is best to wait for the colour pup that you desire. Anyway, like you said, you have plenty of time whilst your other dogs are calming down a bit/getting out of the young dog bouncey phase. Gives you time to get to know some breeders and do lots of research on Chis:001:

Well exactly Shila isn't even 2 yet and her mum didn't mature until she was 5 so you can imagine how bouncy she is
Plus I want to be in a stable financial situation before adding another dog to my little gang so i have no problem in waiting x

Our last GSD was a big girl she weighed 58 kilos & wasn't fat either

If you have never had a large breed dog then you will have no insight into how careful they are with anything they perceive to be a puppy(the cavaliers were always treated as puppies by Abbie & never grumped at, she would just get up & walk away when they got to be too much for her, which wasn't very often-my BC on the other hand was regularly told off )

What you've said is very much what I've experienced with the large breeds when out with the Chis. They either tend to ignore my little yappers or they want to play with them. Some of the small breeds aren't quite so polite and nice with them:shock: . I'll have to make a point of taking mine to the park in the Summer and see if I can get them mixing in with larger breeds, so that I can make a more informed judgment about Chis with larger breeds. Abbie sounds a sweetie by the way:001:

She sells her puppies for the same price regardless of colour. They are all registered and her bitches are shown and do obedience.
