Indeed that is a stunning pic (the eyes look touched up..but that is besides the point)xxx

Ref the BS (I too am not willing to get into an argument, I did not write it and have had nothing to do with it being written so cannot answer any questions, other than my interpretation of things, which is simply MOO) I do believe the original BS (many moons ago) did have an emphasis on looking like the pic you have shown there, however that one was criticized for appearing to be based on the profile of a wolf............

I agree, it also mentions when viewed from the side as in the Dobermanns standard being viewed as a blunt wedge, but no mention is made in the NI standard about a side view at all. Cocker yes to look at I agree. This is from a breed standard:

However that is a Dogue De Bordeaux, didnt somebody mention Mastiff being in the NI??????:002:

Ahh but when I asked why anyone would want to breed a dog that looked like a Wolf, JK on HERE said the NI was NEVER bred to look like a Wolf!! Work that one out folks!

    PMSL!!!!

Welll at least they are proving they are incapable of breeding dogs and they have no understanding of basic conformation! They call themelves decent breeders......laughable!!

I wish someone would put this 'breed' to bed.

I will be very honest and what I love about the NI is the wolfy looks and I personally believe thats what most people who buy them want. So what is this mutant going to look like then?

i think you are all getting this wrong, the NI is a dog it is not yet classified as a breed, to become a breed it has to produce dogs of a similar type, when this is achieved the dog is then put up for recognition to the kennel club, the breeders must supply information on the breeding history of the dog, i know people who have bought these dogs and where told by breeder that the NI where up for recognition with the kennel club, i give the person the number to ring and as i had told them this was not true. when a type is produced then maybe it will become a breed, and if they put this new breed standard to the kennel club i think it will take a lot of explaning on how the animal moves at all,,,,,nothing against any one starting new breed, but if after all these years they can not produce type then its time to give up or get someone who knows what there doing. before i get slagged of, and called all sorts have a look on ukwolfdogs look at riggs and roxy, a male and female, it took three generations to produce this new wolfdog and i can keep the type for many many years to come, regards czechwolf

Not that I am an expert but this seems a little harsh, the old standard was OK, just the new one, as at December last year, seems a little... disorientated. Your own dogs, whilst fine animals, have been bred for many many years and so are more likely to breed true - much more likely at least than a breed with more than a couple of strains involved that has only really been around for the last 20 years or so.

And great looking animals they are too (once I found them!), you should be congratulated on their behalf.

How much wolf content does Iyana have? For me personally she's the most impressive.

That may be the case but an old standard was deff criticized for resembling the wolf profile too closely.

I think there are NIDs that look a certain 'type' but there are breeders who breed (as with any breed I am sure) and create dogs that do not fit that type.

With respect Nes (you know I like shunka) all of your 3 dogs could be different breeds, they are nothing alike at all. You tend to see this all the time with the NI, the only thing I see as similar in many is the coat colour.

The things is Dawn, many people used to immediately assume Kaliska was Shunka's pup when she was growing up. I think the diff between Shunka and Kaliska is no diff to some long haired GSDs when compared to the shorter coated GSD and I speak from my observations here. My NIDs have a GSD friend (bitch) who without bias is completely diff (in size and build) to another female GSD I know, who lives in my village, who is a short coat.

I agree that Thunder looks like neither of the other two, ref overall build etc and markings.
