Dobermanns?? Are there working and show lines?

hey peeps just got back from a nice walk with my boy and meet up with two stunning dobes and there owner.
One was brown and tan the other was black and tan, both males they were totally stunning!
We spent the whole hour and a bit walking round with them and there owner, my boy and the two dobes got on like a house on fire it was like three tigger bouncing round the park!!! :026: :026: :026:
Anyway my question is that these two dobes were big dobes and chunkier than alot of dobes I see about, they looked like the ones I was more used to seeing when I was growing up!
Alot of the dobes I see today seem to be alot smaller and thiner with more of a longer neck??
Just wonder if there are different lines eg working lines show lines?
Any one know what I mean??

There arent any "working" lines in Dobes DL, but the European bred ones tend to have more substance.

    Thanks Dawn,
They did have alot more substance.
We often see other dobes when on are travels and they all seem to be very, very slendier indeed with long necks.
Still cracking dogs, but not the dobes I used to see growning up.

The ones in the park today were beautiful, they looked so athletic, strong and inproportion.
    Mason and Neo...totally amazing!
    Think I've got the bug!!!!

It seems I have the chunky variety  Syd is 46kgs and Rio struggles to maintain 36kgs and is on a permanent diet. Built like brick outhouses the pair of them. Milan is a more slender build and to me seems tiny but she had a very dodgy start in life.
