Aye from the pics you have posted he looks a lot bigger than Pepsi. Its a shame as i wanted a big dog, thinking my dad didnt know that springers grew quite big lol. How wrog was i :-( :-(
His dam is a show type ESS, she was superb and not too overdone AT ALL. No exessive furnishings of saggy skin or exess coat, to me Tricky was fab! And she was showbred but I think she had a field trial dog a few generations back. Ralph's sire was a field trial dog, used for trial work and he worked in such a fab fab style! Towerbird Arrowhead wasn't the small mainly white whippetycollie type we often so, he was quite well built yet still field type and had a nice balance of coat and quite a lot of colour (Ralph has exactly the same markings) and he was from pure field trialling dogs. I brought Ralph in some vein hope of doing both showing and working with him, but trust me to end up with a dog then when in a field moves EXACTLY how he should yet put a slip lead on him and have him in the ring and he just looked miserable-so that was out. And he developed a complex noise phobia due to some issues with the neighbours banging walls n fences whenever he'd give a bark? (Madness I know!) so he became far too unstable around the gun, I use him for flushing and sometimes..only sometimes, retrieving shot game but I could never imagine working him being "shot overhead", he'd freak out and it would be HORRIBLE! To me he's what I wanted, looks and temperament wise. When he was younger he was a nightmare, but that's really down to my own doings in all fairness..he wasn't managed correctly at all, he was spoilt and allowed to do what he wanted and he has always been very "driven" workwise and he had quite a spell where he wasn't being used for anything so went a bit mental! But he's an excellent chap nowdays, he's so doting and everyone who meets him says how hes "like the springer's we had as a kid, very scatty n silly yet not nearly manic like half the see you today".
Have you any body shots of him? or on the move pics?hes like the springers i remember too!!!! Do you have a pic or a link to a pic of his dad!

Just joined the forum, here is my mental boy 3 yo working line springer called Sutton And the most typical shot of him
He truely was, we got him aged 7 from a springer rescue, he'd already had cancer and was down to 3 legs (not that that ever stopped him)! His owners were bored with him as they had got another dog who didn't like Sam :-( :-( What would make anyone do that? Their loss, most certainly our gain!
