    From Wiki I'm afraid

Some Malamutes have been known to reach 32 inches (810 mm), and to weigh more than 160 lb (73 kg). Heavier individuals (90lbs) and dogs smaller than 75 pounds are common.

Not too unlike Lupi to look at

There seems to be quite a big difference in actual shape of a malamute to NI IMO, if you look at our Bailey this was taken about 2 years ago when he was 6 years old.

and this is Timber at the age of 3 years, from the pics I have seen of NI's you dont get this outline

I agree reference the tail, but I'm less sure about the rest when it comes to Lu. Particularly the muzzle size and shape.

I know my other two NI are much more rangy and lean. But Lu does seem more Mal build than them.

my reference was if there is mal in them, then the overal shape of an NI would look more mally if you see what I mean?

Tibetan Mastiff (lovely dogs) , how many are there in the UK? When I went to Crufts a few years back I am sure it was the type of breed that was hard to get hold of, due to there being low numbers in the UK, rare breed and all that. So it is highly unlikely that they were used in the creation of the NID:roll:

On an old thread, someone said that JK or EH had a TM at one point and it was bred from. I found the post but dont like cross posting without permission:001:

I am sure that someone has said it but I, personally, find it beyond belief:roll:

That is what I find strange, I have read acounts of what made up RR and if someone now said - there was some pomeranian in them, it wouldnt upset me as it has taken this mix to get my boy. Surely it makes no difference if there is TM in NIs?

Hi Lionhound, I am actually quite fond of the TM, I met two gorgeous ones at Crufts and I wish the pic I took was off a digital camera as I would've put it on here. It wouldn't bother me if they were in the NID. However, what bothers me is that certain people seem to want to do their best to invent a history for this breed, it seems a deliberate attempt to make people believe that we will never know the truth, as so many dogs have been thrown into the equasion, it would be harder than finding a needle in a hay stack.

The Tibetan Mastiff is one of my favourite breeds, they can be "pushy" to put it lightly though!

Based on my two (and bearing in mind they have been further diluted by having a GSD mum) I would say that they definitely do not have any Mal similarities in regards to size, shape or coat - anything for that matter.

Having said that, I must state that I'm not convinced that they have any NI, the owner of this 'accidental litter' was dodgy to say the least
