Hi, Your boy looks lovely - as do all the other dogs shown, whether beagles, foxhounds, coonhounds etc. Yor first post mentioned he is DLRC registered. What is the DLRC? I've never heard of it. Laura xx
DLRC is dog lover resigertation club, they register any dogs, including cross breeds, I've looked through their website, and even if I bred my dogs (hypothetical, both are neutered/spayed) I could register them on there.

My God! I'm shocked, horrified and so sad. I never realised that this went on or the fact that a big concern like Dogs4Us would get involved in such behaviour - especially when they do have the photos of celebrity customers in the entrance etc which does lull you into a sense of security and an air of respectability. I consider myself to be a mature and fairly intelligent person but I feel so stupid. I've checked the certificates I got with my girls and one of them is licensed in Carmarthenshire (as in the video link) - its just horrible. Thank you so much for sharing this with me, its opened my eyes. I just thank god that we gave my girls a good home. I don't know what can be done to stop this? I'll be doing my bit from now on though, I run training courses all over the country and speak to well over 60 people a week, I know what my discussion topic for break times will be from now on. I think education is the key! I'm so, so glad you didn't take my post the wrong way. I don't like upsetting people and thought, if you replied, you might annoyed by my post. The thing is, like you say, when you buy from a place like dogs4us, with clean pens and healthy looking dogs, it's hard to believe that anything untoward is going on behind the scenes. So glad you'll be spreading the word too!
I was deeply offended - but not by anything that you said - but by what I saw. I really appreciate the approach - I like people to say what they think and you have educated me so much, am really grateful. I always consider myself to be a doggie person - so much so that my mum bought me a fridge magnet a few years ago that said 'the more people I meet, the more I like my dog' (thats been my motto ever since!!!). As a doggie person I needed to know this information and I'm glad you told me in the way that you did - consider myself informed now and will certainly be spreading the word to anyone who will listen Regards Alison
So, it's just a couple of rules they'd be breaking if they sold on their pack hounds? If they're not breakign statute law, then there's no way of stopping anyone from selling on a dog. If against the law there's somethign that can be done about it usually. But just because some association or club comes up with it's own rules, not everyone will abide by them. Laura xx

Sorry to hear about your dog being form a a pup farm, I've met a few people who've said about their dog 'he came came from a a lovely farm in Wales' and they think it's some idyllic place, how wrong they are, but they weren't to know, I suppose. :-(
I have just sat and watched all the videos on the link. we hear about puppy farming but NEVER in my wildest nightmares would I have imagined anything like I have just seen......I have no idea what can be done to stop awful trade in cruelty and heartache, but would love to know what we as Dogsey members can actually do?
there is another peacefull protest at Dogs4us. Bramley on the 25th October at 12 noon, its aim is to educate people about where to find a pup from a responsible breeder and to dispel some of the myths about rescue's i think the theory is if they can influence people not to buy from there its one less outlet for the PF
Thanks for that link, Scarter. I'm really interested in looking back at my adopted boy's history. I did a little research just after we got him, as there are a lot of Australian and New Zealand champions (mostly Clarion Beagles) on his Father's side and I wanted to find out more about how the Australian connection came about. I found out what I wanted to know just by digging about on the breeders websites and left it at that. My boy is also (for want of a better word, because he's absolutely perfect in my eyes) a bit of a misfit in that he is very tall (almost 18 inches) and heavier boned and stockier still than a typical show Beagle. He has a broad handsome show Beagle head but has shorter ears. I don't know much about his breeder or any siblings, as I hadn't found any other reference at all to his breeder's afix 'Williamswick' but have found many of his direct descendants as the majority of them are champions originating from well known kennels - Bayard, Dialynne, Norcis, Clarion, Tragband and Dufosee and it has been interesting to see where he gets his good looks from. Hopefully, now, I can dig a bit deeper and trace back to his packs.

Hi! Lovely to hear from another Williamswick Beagle owner! I assumed you'd be from the north east, like me but I see you're in the south. I also see from your profile that your girl is a rescue. Do you know much about her past? I'd love to hear her all about her and see some photos, if you don't mind, of course. We adopted Murphy (or to give him his Sunday name, Williamswick Vanguard) 2 years ago, from a family who didn't have time for him. We were given all of his documentation, which obviously gave the breeder's contact details. I wanted to contact them, to let them know that we had him but I didn't know how they'd react to the fact his original owners had given him away "free to a good home". I couldn't find out any info about them other than they lived on a farm in Northumberland and the family had been farm livestock breeders for many years. By chance, a few months ago, I bumped into my best friend from school, who I hadn't seen since my late teens. We ended up going for a coffee and a catch-up. It turned out that she also owned a Beagle and not only was he a Williamswick Beagle but he was also Murphy's Brother! We were both completely gobsmacked! She said the breeders were an elderly couple who were lovely people and who obviously loved their dogs. She said they were always glad of a visit from their 'pups' and she suggested we take a drive up there to see them, one day but so far we haven't got round to it. Have you been in touch with the breeders, at all? When I get home I'll post some photos taken with my proper camera. I only have access to phone camera photos at the moment and they're not the best.
OMG OMG OMG!!!!!! Thats AMAZING!!!!! we rescued Candy days before the original owners were going to take her to the RSPCA to be rehomed. She was very obese and weighing in at 26k!!!! Fantastic temperament though and obedient. She now down to 19k and only has a couple more to lose! Like Murphy, the owners decided they didnt want her after having a baby...so sad. She has her forever home with us now and not going anywhere! She loves playing with the ferrets too and its so funny to watch! How old is Murphy? Who is his mum & dad? Candys mum is Golden Galloway Flower & her dad is Bayard Simple Simon We had her 5th Gen pedigree and sent off for her full history, which like yours shows lots of Champions in her history! including Fallowfield, Dialynne & Bayard. Candy even featured her story of weight loss in this New Years Take A Break Magazine! It took me nearly a year to get in touch with the Breeder, Mrs Storrow but we keep in regular contact now. She would be sooo pleased to hear from you, like she was from us! She obviously loves her dogs very very much and likes to keep in touch with them. She is elderly as we write rather than email, which is nice! We are hoping to visit her sometime this year before we get married in October. Its a 5 hour drive for us so we will find somewhere to stay nearby for a couple of days. If you want her contact details i can email them to you.
Wow! That's pretty amazing! Once again, I'm gobsmacked! Murphy was given up for exactly the same reason. He's a real lovely dog, too, although I don't think he was socialised well as a pup, because he's a bit nervous when approaching other dogs. Once he's made friends though, he's fine. I don't know how anyone can just give up their dogs like that! He turned 5 October gone. His sire was also Bayard Simple Simon but his dam was Davricard Damask, so Murph and Candy are half Brother and Sister! I already have contact details for the breeder, so I will most definitely get in touch with her now! They only live half an hour away from me. Well done with Candy's weight-loss, too! I know how easy Beagles pile on the pounds. We go running and cycling with Murphy and it seems to be keeping him in good shape. I WILL post some pics as soon as I get a chance! Once again, it's lovely to hear from you!
