is she the same suzy who was star on the other forum.. who was booted off for doing the same thing?

If Suzy is Ursula.. her Shey is a perfect example of another bad temperament... she was a pain in the backside at shows around other bitches. At the first meet i went to with Freya.. her bitch had to stay on lead for a good while.. then when she was let off had to wear a spray commander collar.. in case she went for another dog.

Sorry girls not Star not ursula and not NIS, you don't know everyone on dogsey.... and just because you don't share my view its not really fair play you get all nasty with me KCjack , ok I called you KC....t but you were being quite abusive, I am not answerable to you just because I don't want to discuss mine or my mums dogs does not give you the right to call me a troll, once more I say I am entitled to my opinion this is a public forum, you are upset because I did not believe in your list, get over it...

Ok you got me I was Starr on the other forum and didnt really want to discuss it but now you have brought it up yes I did get banned as did others for asking for proof of the so called evidence on there, also I posted something about Merlin from one of his owners and SC did not like it s what does that tell you , possibly that SC is hiding stuff too that she is NOT telling the truth.

Ok well here is my view on living with them etc. I own two of them. One bitch - Vienna who is coming up 3yrs and one dog - Quinn who is coming up 7 months. I got them both from the same breeder and would very happily have another one from her. Both mine have Mahlek in them and they are cousins - his Dad and her Mum are littermates.

    1. Dog hair.... yep they definitely moult twice a year in spring and summer and although it is heavier than my labs moult, the rest of the year it is pretty much the same as the lab. Hoovering once a day is sufficient when they are not moulting i find. However to reduce hoovering work i do restrict them to downstairs only now. When they do moult i spend at least 10 mins a day brushing each dog with an undercoat rake. They love this and plus it takes a lot of the fur out while im outside so that it doesnt shed inside! When they blow their coats it also isnt as bad as my friends 2 husky boys across the road!

    2. Prey Drive. Well firstly my dogs live with two cats. We got the cats as kittens when Vienna was 2 years old so she was never bought up round them. She treats them like her babies as has from day one. Quinn was 3 months when i got him and he wanted to play and chase them from day one. He will play chase with them while outside but only when they run. The cats have learnt to stay still or walk slow around Quinn. But they happily spend evenings all in the lounge with me - cats and dogs alike. Saying that the other week while out on walkies Vienna caught a baby rabbit. Quinn joined in and ended up eating said dead rabbit. :078: So yes while the pray drive is there it is not a big issue. But i wouldnt leave my dogs and cats unsupervised together if there was not somewhere high up that the cats could go (just in case) but that also includes my lab.

    3. Recall. Well Vienna is ok on her recall to be honest. No she isnt 100% but she is actually better than my lab! Quinn is less good at his recall but he is stil in his teenage stage. I do find that their obedience is instantly and vasty improved when i take my dogs out by themselves for '1 on 1' time. When they are all out together they tend to all have recall or all have not so good recall

    4. Seperation Anxiety. Vienna as a pup suffered from this but with training and maturity she grew out of it. She is very happy to be left alone with another dog although i dont leave her totally alone. Quinn also has suffered a little. My circumstances changed and i went from having the dogs all sleep in my bedroom to all sleeping downstairs. At first i split the NI's from the lab as i thought Quinn would pester the lab during the night. He cried and messed. The crying stopped after a few nights but the messing didnt. I started leaving all 3 together and there was no crying and the messing stopped. So although i didnt think Quinn was very attached to my lab clearly there is an attachment there!

    4. Training. Quinn is extremely food orientated - even more so than the lab. He will do ANYTHING for food so training with him has been pretty easy. He is know as the portable demon dustbin for good reason. :077: Vienna was harder as she was not food or toy orientated. She has been harder work but very rewarding. She does as she is told because she wants to please me and through respect. But it has taken a fair amount of work.

    5. Character. Vienna can be a little aloof with people. She is not that fussed about cuddles and occasionally is nervy around strangers outside. Anyone that comes to the house is given a warm welcome though (stranger or not!) She adores other dogs and always wants to make friends with them. She was badly scared as youngster by a 'teenage' german shepherd and since then has shown some dominant behavious to GSD's who bark excessively at her when she wants to make friends. She seems to feel the need to 'put them in their place' now? There have been 2 cases of this. Both the GSDs who barked excessively at her when she wanted to make friends who she then tried to dominate, were young males. One of which she is friends with and happily lives with now, the other is dog fear aggressive to all dogs and is aggressive to people also. She doesnt bark or guard the house at all and only barks in play otherwise she is very quiet vocally. She is an intelligent and kind bitch, loves her mummy above anything else, and has a sense of humour and cheekiness which are totally unique from any other dog i've ever met. :049:
Quinn is a happy little soul. Rather like my lab in his permanant gormless happy expression, melting eyes and cheeky sense of mischief! He is always up to puppy mischief, be it stealing the cats food, raiding the bin, or escaping out the cat flat to run riot round the garden! He is quite gobby and likes to answer back or bark when he is excited! He guards the house like the lab and always barks when the door is knocked. He is surprisingly intelligent and learns quickly but can also be stubborn and a bit dense!

    6. Children. Neither dog has been bought up around children. They have met random children when out walking but thats prety much it! Both are excellent with them and allow them to hug/pet etc them and always have done. Vienna has shown a little fear of toddlers running at her but if they are calm and dont rush up to her (she runs away if they do!) she is happy for them to do anything they like with her and once she has had enough she simply moves away from them! Quinn can be rather clumsy round kids but loves the attention from them.

    7. Food. All my dogs are on Wagg and do very well on it. They love to have treats of frozen raw meat like half a lamb leg etc. I have found that both NI while under the age of 6 months had quite 'soft' stools but as soon as they hit 6 months they seemed to get over that?! I have had them both on JWB, Chappie, Wagg, Iams and Ukanuba (all puppy). Vienna has never been to the vet over any poorly tummy and neither has Quinn. Vienna has had a poorly tum before but she has been fine after a few days of chicken, rice and natural yoghurt. They also will not share they food while eating it but i feed all 3 dogs together without any problems.

    7. Destruction. Vienna has shred sooo many duvets and pillows and dog beds i've lost count! However now they they have plastic beds with fleece blankies in, no shredding! The edges of the plastic beds get chewed as have the edges of my conservatory windowsills (thanks Vienna!) but other than that nothing has been destroyed. I do always have chewy toys around for them and also hyde chews which they love.

    8. Digging. Oh yes these terrors love to dig! Both of mine love to dig in the garden or borders if they are given half the chance so i do have to be careful not to give them the chance!!!

    9. Exercise. I find my two are happy with as much or as little as i give them (restricted while pups of course). If for whatever reason i cant walk them (has happened before) they havent been bothered at all and didnt even seem to notice. But on days when i meet up with friends and their dogs for long walkies they will go all day and absolutely adore every second of it! I think to an extent they do exercise themselves while playing rough with each other in the garden.

    10. Health. Vienna is spayed and had a reaction to her internal stitches and Quinn still has one undescended testicle (but he is only 7 months so there is time yet). Other than that no health issues from either of mine. I have not had mine hip scored or health tested but their general health has always been good.

Hope that gives you a fair and balanced view on live with Vienna and Quinn. If you fancy a trial run you are more than welcome to come stay with me for a few weeks to see if you really can live with an Inuit lol. They can take some work but are so so worth it and i wouldnt part with either of mine for the world

P.S sorry have just realised how super long this post is!!

My bitch is more independent... but much more intelligent... my boy is thick as two short planks... but more openly affectionate. But i`ve been around other NI`s that are the other way round. So it comes down to personal preference.

Admirable to be looking to take on a rescue so ok the breed lines might not mean so much but you should be aware of any potential serious health problems in any breed that you think about taking on, rescue or not.

Hope you get all the information you need :)

so Ok you now are Star and you are NIS, I don't know who you are but you seem to know a lot about SC and her friends

KCjacks list isn't just a made up list, it is facts of dogs health problems given by their owners.

I have spoken to some of the NI owners about their unhealthy dogs, obviously the crippled and dead dogs are not at the shows for people to meet them.

I hope that your NI, whoever bred them stay healthy, just seems strange that you know so much about SC and her dogs but don't mention the breeder of your own NI at all.

yep I have a dog like that too, a dopey great big lap dog

Sapphire loves to have a fuss off everyone she meets, they are all very sociable, Sapphire gets along well with other dogs and bitches, Talli isn't too good with some entire males (I think due to an experience he had before we got him)

Tali chases everything but does come back when he is called.

Sapphire doesn't chase furry things but loves to roll in everything smelly, and eat revolting dead things she finds too

Amber is still a pup, very sociable, has good recall, doesn't chase things.

All mine are good around children, not nervous, or scared of fireworks, noises or crowds of people

I have never let them off lead around livestock as IMO it's not worth the risk.

they all love stinking swamp water, but none are keen on a bath.

they all pull on the lead, and if they are walked together they are worse as each one wants to be in front.

Talli moults none stop all year round, I don't wear black trousers any more, beige is the new black lol

As you have a neutered dog IMO I would go for a bitch

    Hiya,

Glad my essay lol was useful! I would also say seeing as you already have a neutered boy i would go for a bitch. But saying that there have been no probs between my neutered labby and the Quinnster.

Would love to meet up for a walk and you are always welcome to come and meet my little pack! :)
