just thought i'd add i'm a natural red head and everyone who knows me says i'm the most laid back person you could meet, my daughter is also a red head and does'nt have a bad temper. i've been lucky in the fact i've never known a bad tempered gsd

Yes - i didn't say it was right or not but that some research had been done and some links have been found, ....but you know what research is like, they can find link everywhere to proove anything really! I wish i could find it and then could have a proper read of it.

P.s. my OH is red head too.

lol i know. i've heard it before, when people meet me they always ask if i have a bad temper
i always tell them i don't have a bad temper but i'm very passionate about what i believe in. my friend always gets "told" by strangers her white gsd must be vicious because she's white, just like i get told my monitors must be iracible (sp?)

Yeah - i have never met an aggressive white GSD so i am doubtful it was true, but i remember the link to rage in cockers as being interesting....but it was so long a go since i read it really.

The colour makes no difference to temperament at all in my opinion.
Whites are fine as pets or for obedience though not for the show ring.
The important thing is health checks & breeding as the only nasty tempered whites I've known were very inbred.
